Twenty two years ago I bought a CNC that came with Americam software. I now have a new machine but I sure miss the old software. A truly superior product.

I think you are a good teacher. I would like to see more. Especially Carbide Motion, I can't get a correct complete instructions, thanks. Captain Chuck. Most people writing are way too fast and just skip along at a very fast pace. I would like slow concise instruction. I am 79 Years Old and need a bit slower instruction and once again complete step by step.. Thanks.

I'm planning on some project videos where I go through a few projects start to finish in Carbide Create and Motion, need to cleanup my shop a bit and figure out how I want to do the videography while not tripping over tripods but they're on their way.

Not sure if this helped you, but I just purchased my Shapeoko cnc and some bits through your links. I hope it helped you out. Great work and info. Thanks!

I really appreciate it. Apparently you need 500 subscribers before amazon will let you use affiliate links so for the time being they don’t function but I appreciate the effort. Come join us in the “unofficial” Facebook forum is you want, great people there as you start your Shapeoko journey.

So, in order to make the 1st test with the marker, I need Adobe Ilustrator? I also have a new laptop and the file can't be read..🤔

Great information! Do I need to buy a laptop or new computer to use this software? I use an iPad and have to upgrade my windows desktop as it is...any information would be helpful!
@see-n-c66064 жыл бұрын
You’ll want a computer but don’t need anything super powerful. Carbide’s software works on windows or Mac. Vectric software is windows only.

Where would sketchup fall into all of this?
@see-n-c66066 жыл бұрын
Good questions, AFAIK there's no CAM solution for Sketchup, but it should export an STL file which is something VCarve and Fusion360 will both import and do the CAM for. But if you were going to use F360 I'd just start with the design there, the learning curve is steeper but a lot more powerful. VCarve Desktop and Pro from what I understand are happy to cut 3d stl files just not design them.

What about artcam and delcam
@see-n-c66064 жыл бұрын
I hadn't checked those out, carveco is also a recent addition to the mix

@@see-n-c6606 ok....delcam powermill toolpath program run in this machine...
@camerabug995 жыл бұрын
A not insubstantial minority of us use Mac machines, coming to this from the creative side especially. The Vectric programs will only run on PC, and having to buy a new computer (and learn how it operates) is a huge cost. For me, this makes Vectric programs a non-starter.

This is unfortunately a really good point. Hope they consider working out whatever compatibility issues are preventing them from releasing a mac edition.
