CNC Chamfers, Bevels and Deburr - FreeCAD 1.0 CAM Workbench

In this video I'm showing you how to use the deburr operation in the CAM Workbench in FreeCAD 1.0. From the basic creation of a simple deburr operation, to creating clones of already chamfered objects, setting step down, chamfering by selecting lines, create the proper g code file for deburring or chamfering any object.

I thinks it’s possible to use a profile op to do a chamfer too. Plus you should be able to do multiple passes. This would also be useful for any profile shape router bit.

Yes, it is possible. On my older video about deburring I used it. It is a little bit more tricky to setup, as you have to manually set the offset, but it can be done. You can set multiple passes both in the deburr operation and the profile. In the profile you can also use the side approach, by setting decreasing offsets to multiple operations, while in the deburr you can only use the stepdown, so a top down approach

Nice bit of information to know, is it possible to program a rounded edge (radius instead of chamfer) with out a radius cutter ? thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Probably a 3d surface. I've done it a couple of times, when I didn't have the required diameter. But it takes much longer

Thanks for the video. Have you heard about any lathe or 4th axis development in Freecad?

There is a rotational option in 3d surface, I will talk about it in the near future, when I'll be able to purchase the fourth axis. Until then, since I cannot test it, I cannot make a video
