hi there, what thickness is that aluminum? what are your settings?

What are the aluminum thickness, the tool used, the feed rates and the spindle speed? I usually cut aluminum panels in small steps with my Probotix machine to reduce chatter, but it would be nice to cut everything in a single pass. Thanks for the info!

If you haven't heard of Ring Avulsion, you should look it up (too nasty to describe here). You should really take off all your rings before working on any machinery... and even if you wrote the tool path, why would you put your fingers in the machining zone? These are bad accidents waiting to happen.

i went through 3 of those spindle/routers cutting aluminum, has horrible side bearing load. plus u can hear all the chatter/ bearings wont last, ok for demos ;)

cncthings with a proper spindle and feeds and speed you can make one last quite a long time. I personally have never use a router always ran a true spindle motor

I went thru 5 Bosch routers before I actually bought a 2k watercooled spindle. Much better!

Use an 1/8in or 3mm SINGLE flute bit.

what spindle you have used? 500w?

It’s not a spindle, it’s a Dewalt router. Likely 1-¾ hp or um... like 1300w. Runs much slower, which is better for Alum.
