Awesome video, thank you ! I built a small MPCNC to understand and get familiarized with CNC, next build will be very similar to you next year !

I am working to finish my overkill cnc mill. you have helped me figure this out. thank you

Awesome! Stoked you figured it out.

can we please have a detailed view on how you install the profiles (and the type) with the machine so they can move up/down - Rigth/left and how the suction cups are screwed into the profiles? I have ordered the pump, now preparing the cups and profiles to get them installed. Thanks a lot mate !!

Hey I have a video on building the machine where I go over the whole process of making the cups and installing them.

try this. spackle the pad footprints on the foam blank, then sand smooth with 800 grit to cure leakage ( maybe ditch the foam collars on the vacuum pads if you do this)
@reeces_shredlab9 ай бұрын
Hey Greg, These days I've been using a layer of Tucktape on the foam. Super fast, I just stick it onto the foam and it provides a perfect smooth surface for the vacuum pads to latch onto. Works like a charm and you can peel it off easily afterwards.

man it'd be awsome if you posted a video showing how you model the boards in fusion!
@reeces_shredlab9 ай бұрын
Hey Thomas, I don't actually model the boards in Fusion. I prefer using shape 3D which is specially designed for board shaping. Fusion is a real pain in the ass when it comes to curvy things like surfboards. I just bring the boards into fusion when it's time to create the CNC codes.

Wow, super interesting and well done project! Thanks for sharing it! Do you think your system could handle a longer cutter?
@reeces_shredlab Жыл бұрын
Hey, It can handle longer cutters, but the limiting factor is the spindle speed. The minimum RPM for my spindle is 9000 and it hardly has any power when it's moving that slow. When I tried to run the longer cutters at higher rpms, 12000 and up, it started to warp and vibrate pretty aggressively.

You are inventive; I've been in a design/build/scrap/redesign process for several years now...always trying for a simpler build. It looks like you use the walls to reduce flex?
@reeces_shredlab2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dirk, That's not a bad idea! But no my machine is not connected to the wall. The limited space in my container forced me to push it as close to the wall as possible so I can walk around it. I plan to use some angled cross beams to really stiffen up the machine when I get around to it.

Hello mate , wanted to ask you … I have also CNC with bed and just need the pump and stuff you use to hold the board . May i know brand /price and if URL to have the example then great !!

Hey! I bought the vacuum pump and pressure pot on Amazon, something like this, the one I ordered isn't available anymore: www.amazon.ca/Single-Stage-Stainless-Stabilizing-Degassing-Silicones/dp/B09DS5KJL1/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=PW03QGD7XUUR&keywords=vacuum+pump+pressure+pot&qid=1666674563&sprefix=vacuum+pump+pressure+po%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1 I bought a vacuum pressure regulator, wired it into the vacuum pump: buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-pneumatic-hydraulic-vacuum-pump-controller-sensor-redfrog-v1 The vacuum fixture/suction cup setup is custom. I designed it myself and I would suggest just doing your own setup for that,, it'll be different for every machine.

Ya I'm sure that will work great. Make sure you order Vacuum pump oil as well. It might not come with any.

How do you make the bord in 3D? Lov the vid
@reeces_shredlab2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I use a program called shape 3d.
@birklindebjerg54232 жыл бұрын
@@reeces_shredlab okay do you then have the paid version? Thanks
@reeces_shredlab2 жыл бұрын
Ya I have the export version so I can bring the board files into my CNC software. There's a bunch of different options, different prices I think.
