They look great. The only concern I would have (learned from experience) is the dovetail fit. With changes in humidity the wood can expand and contract, even with the finish on it, and it may seize up if it expands too much. Especially with different woods as they will expand at different rates. Nice use though of a variety of techniques to achieve the finished product

Yep, learned that over time also. I leave the fit on the loose side and use stronger magnets to hold the pieces together. Here in Colorado, you have to plan for an extra amount of expansion throughout the different seasons. Thanks for watching!!

Such a beautiful board. You did an amazing job. Is there room in the storage portion of the bottom piece to carve out room for a second deck of cards? Not that you need two but you may want a second deck for another game. Just an idea with that space that isn’t being used. 😊

Can I please ask what was the thick finish that you used? I know you didn't have large sections of epoxy but would that be a finish you use if you did have a mix of both wood and larger epoxy areas?

By the way, I am in awe at the beauty of the finished boards and the precision you have! It definitely will have me looking at zeroing from the center, something I haven't done yet.

Yep....Rubio Monocoat. I apply it a little differently than most. The application got away from me this go around.
