Also, since most people here for some reason are only complementing Dimon, I just want to say, that Deep Dark Fantasy is a great player as well and I really enjoy watching his games. No doubt no doubt. DDF had an incredible tournament run and... in total map score DDF beat Dimon. Winners Finals Dimon 3-2 DDF, Grand Final 1 Dimon 0-4 DDF, Grand Final 2 Dimon 4-2 DDF. DDF won 8 of the 15 games they played in this tournament. Dimon is the better player overall, but DDF had an amazing showing.

So, for those who had to do a double take on that last Mecha Bay cap, like I did (and who would blame you, most of it was off-camera), here's a step-by-step breakdown of the entire sequence: 1:28:01 - Dimon sells his Construction Yard to get a free Engineer (you can see it being sold and the engineer appearing in its place on the minimap) 1:28:26 - Sybert scrolls his camera to Dimon's base and sees the Engineer and remnants of the sold Con-Yard 1:28:37 - Dimon builds a single Bullfrog and loads Engineer into it (once again, visible on the minimap), immediately setting it off towards DDF's base 1:28:51 - Sybert's camera catches Bullfrog passing near the center, but he seems to pay no attention to it 1:29:03 - Bullfrog reaches DDF's base and man-cannons Engineer behind the Mecha Bay (visible on the minimap and you can even briefly see the shadow of the launched Engineer) 1:29:12 - The Engineer lands and approaches the Mecha Bay, starting to capture it just as Sybert's camera focuses on DDF's base again 1:29:16 - The Mecha Bay is successfully captured and subsequently sold 1:29:23 - With no unit production buildings and under constant pressure from the steady stream of SIckles, DDF has no choise but to forfeit All of this in a span of one-and-a-half minute. This was some GOURMET guerilla tactics if I seen any. Dimon has really channeled the spirits of soviet partisans here.

As someone who played Empire exclusively on release I felt they were underpowered a bit (except for naval) but they were flexible. I dunno what happened but they overbuffed the hell out of empire it seems.. Kinda ridiculous..

Love the casting very much, that I cannot watch RA3 replays without your casting (oh no, but oh yes). Came back here to rewatch the matches. First 4 matches is kinda suck, really. But there are still good plays from DDF though. Somehow I did root for DDF even I knew Dimon win in this video. The last 4 matches: The infinity isle match is kinda surprising, which wow-ed me for twinblade carrying hammer tank for harassment. That was a great move. The BBB match is very well played for both player. And it is actually feel good to see DDF beat Dimon even when Dimon is performing good. I love seeing Dimon lost even when he played seriously because it is definitely a very good match. That's why I hate it when Dimon throws any game, sadly. No comment at industrial strength match, god that capture was wildly crazy to watch.

Yeah. Everything has it's own counter. Kirovs maybe unstoppable by a single VX, but it's easily destroyed by a single Yuriko. A Tengu rush maybe really difficult to deal, but Bullfrog + Flak troopers work well.

I got inspired by these matches to go play Red Alert 3 again. I decided to jump onto a 1v1 against medium AI on Industrial Strength. I got my ass handed to me within 5 minutes, trying to do super cool plays like these guys...

This is the great lie of watching amazing players. It makes you feel like you can do it, but they are only amazing because they have played far more games than the rest of us. Or they're just more talented, there's also that. Often it helps to "choose a specialty" some players start by trying to be the best micro players (your goal is to end the game as soon as possible, cheese) some players focus on good macro first.

Yeah, I reckon that sounds like a good idea. Either using infantry rushes to improve micro, or focusing on getting to Tech 3/economy earliest, or something like that. Trying to improve one smaller aspect first makes a lot of sense.

@AndrewtheDuke In the base game, all the aircraft are relatively weak. Only the Kirov has significant health, but they moved slowly. Uprising changes that. There's no way in hell bullfrogs are gonna defeat Harbingers and Giga fortresses.

Hard to know for sure. Most of the time C&C Online has more people playing RA3, but many of them are playing co-op campaign, and RA 3 will auto login when you launch the game. There are probably equal or close to equal numbers for each game.

Hey, Sybert! Quick question, why do you upload in 60fps if the game is locked to 30? Couldn't you literally halve the video size if it was in 30 instead of 60? It'd be easier to upload/encode and the quality wouldn't change at all.

I upload in 60 because I interpolate the recording up to 60FPS. While it takes longer than if the game actually ran at 60 interpolation is a good middle ground to give the smoothness of 60.
