Conklin had 2 Schwarzkopfs at the CNE. Doppel went to Miami-Dade Fair for about a decade but I think it is back in Europe now. Great POVs and great video, thanks for uploading this reel. This time period represents the beginning of the end of the really heavy midway rides. After Alpine Way and Exhibition Stadium were removed, the entire layout changed and by that time some notable rides were no longer at the CNE. Eventually even Skydriver disappeared.

Doppel Looping, what a ride....Im guessing the US will never see anything like that again...Glad I got to witness it up close and personal. Conklins your carnival was the greatest....side note, never got to see RAS.

I was hoping to catch myself at the Bavarian Taverns patio entrances. There were 4 entrances and all we had to do was make sure no left with alcohol. They hired anyone with a face. No alcohol training or anything.

Cne conklin shows was when the cne was the best. The rides were so much better. The only ride at the cne I really like is now the polar express.

The Mach3 is incredible but I agree, midway ain't what it used to be. The rollercoasters they have now suck by comparison.

Yea, back then I remember the teenage ride operators acting so cool in a punk rocker hippy kind of way. They would shout FASTER FASTER and the riders would yell out “YEA!”
