I got an Apple Pippin, they're not as bad as people make them out to be. They're mostly like a 3DO in terms of feel Etc.

Just picking up the two you can tell the difference. Plus the screen on the Nexus is so squashed and the tablets are the same size (besides the fact the Ipad is thinner). And the Apps that I need for my own work are only available on the Ipad. Whether they are increasing every day or not so is the Ipads.

The Google Nexus 7 is as well made as the iPad mini and they have equal performance and the gap between the number of apps available is decreasing every day. So again how exactly is the iPad mini worth nearly twice as much?

You can argue their pricing strategy all you want, but the fact of the matter is; a more dynamic app store with apps that run smoother, even though other tablets may have more processing power.

I never even heard of the Pippin. Geez. Apple TV? Somehow I blinked and missed that too. Amazing how people make it seem like everything that comes out of that company is instant gold. I do recall that The X-Files Game I still have around here somewhere made use of a virtual Newton as a tool in the game.

Is apps that can be crossed over any day worth the extra ~300$ that all their products sell for? Sure Google Play may not have everything, but at least everything that runs Android is cheaper and waaay faster. For a hell of a lot less, in-case I forgot to add that.

Funny how people who hate on Apple insist that customers are getting ripped off. Yet if you talk to anyone who owns an Ipad they are absolutely in love with it and feel as they got a great deal. My question to you is what is your definition of being ripped off? If you value the device more than it costs are you in fact not befitting from purchasing it? (Simple Economics consumer theory).

apparently you don't understand a metaphor when you see one. What he means is that the $100,000 to get the water is liking buying the IPad while the hole in the fence is the other companies. So basically the other tablets are getting you to the same place for cheaper price.

It depends on who you are, I guess. I'm used to more advanced computers (like windows, and especially linux computers, although I haven't even fully figured out linux yet... xD)... but I figured out how to use my iPod Touch the day I got it.

Apple is one of those companies, where either you love them or you hate them, it's rare to find someone that thinks "They're okay, i guess" The reason for this is, their products are simple. They are made in a way where almost anyone can just pick it up and instantly know how to use it, they don't need a manual or anything... just the quick start guide they give you and that's really it... This is why they have so much money. People like they're products because there's almost NO learning curve.

The Xerox was a flop. It was not a commercial product, but several thousand units were built and were heavily used at PARC, other Xerox facilities, and at several universities for many years. No one really knew about it.

there are still relevant reasons to buy apple products. macbooks although expensive are some of the best built laptops on the market. i would gladly pay more if it means my laptop isnt made of cheap plastic. and iPhones are the only phones that are fast and retain a smaller body for those people who like a smaller phone.

this is fun though CNET totally overlooked the Apple 3 computer which was likely the companies biggest flop ever. also the Apple Lisa would have been a good candidate. the biggest error is the inclusion of the 20th anniversary mac. it wasnt a flop at all and CNET seems to be unaware of the context and intention behind it

its not about the specs of the device, its all about the overall hardware design. apple have a consistent philosophy that guides there hardware design, they are clean, they are minimal and they are durable, and if you look at their past products they are almost consistent about it. just like you i hate apple back in 2006 because its too expensive but today i think they are pretty much reasonable.

(1) Amstrad released the Mega PC, where you use it as a PC *OR* play Mega Drive games on it, and the PC couldn't use the Mega Drive's hardware for anything I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Apple went cap-in-hand to Lord Sugar and brought Steve Jobs in, I can imagine the two of them literally and regularly coming to fisticuffs...

I think it's unreasonable to say that the original iMac mouse was ugly when you compare it to other mice which were sold at the time. I'd even say that it looks better than some mouse you can buy today
