I met Nicky at Barber Motorsport Park before he died sitting in the trees at turn 5 with the fans even though he could have had a air conditioned suit ! A true dude in my eyes RIP Nicky

I still get a little teary eyed even now when I see anything about Nicky,, whether its interviews (and this is a good one) or just footage of him riding and doing what he does best. Of all the riders out there his death has effected me the most. I am grateful to have lived in a time when he existed and rode. His memory is always with me and he is always with us.

I agree and it's Not really right to make comparisons but Dale Earnhardt's death was sad, Nicky's was a punch to the gut. Affected me more than any other rider or driver, as you said.

I remember watching those AMA 600 SS and Superbike races after work(night shift) on Speed back in the late '90s early '00s. I became a fan of Nicki in those days and followed him through MotoGP and WSBK. I met.him at Road Atlanta in the AMA time and he was one of the nicest people. The day they announced his death I had a few tears. RIP 69

Note to interviewer/narrator a 170 hp 2016 CBR is not twice, or nearly twice as powerful as an early '90's superbike meaning the RC45, jeeze...Here's a clip...With 120 hp at 12,000 rpm on tap, the standard RC45 was hardly a slouch, but an extra 30 hp was available to those who wanted to go serious racing, and could afford it. And make no mistake, some serious coin was required to make the RC45 competitive.

As far as race to race goes, some are pretty exciting. But, as far as the championship goes, it's pretty boring, all you can see is a sea of green, but I'm excited about next year with the new Honda, Ducati are bound to get stronger too and Yamaha might do something. Suzuki also might be joining since they're bringing out such an advanced GSXR.

The average motorcycle driver has a 34 times greater chance of dying than a auto driver. So, if this guy gets married, then he should buy the biggest insurance policy possible. If he doesn't actually end up dying, then most likely he will be disabled in some major way for the rest of his life.
@edking20068 жыл бұрын
+lifesavrdwd the problem with the stat you quote is that it deals with riding on the street. riding on a racetrack--while still dangerous--is inherently safer than street riding. no errant kids or animals to cross your path, no drunk or cell-phone-using idiot car drivers to fear, no trees to hit, etc.
@lifesavrdwd8 жыл бұрын
I am sure that this individual will not only be driving on a track. My 40 years of working in an emergency department has shown me the terrible destruction that can happen to the human body. I am not against motorcycles, just the high risk.
@MrShupe8 жыл бұрын
+lifesavrdwd his contract may forbid him from riding on the street. Many racers' contracts do. Although Nicky is an avid bicycle rider.

+Lee Call Thanks for your input, I know just where I am going to put it.
@TonyRadford8 жыл бұрын
+lifesavrdwd That is incredible information! You should contact Nicky Hayden's WSBK team and make sure he's got adequate insurance coverage. He must not be aware of the risks involved with "driving" a motorcycle, otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't be taking part in an activity as dangerous as this.

No chance of him getting a WSBK championship with Team Kawasaki putting pressure on his back. Jonathan Rea with Team Kawasaki racing WSBK would beat Hayden any day, I would like Hayden if he raced a American company bike like EBR Motorcycles if Hayden raced with EBR I would like him a lot better.
