*Update 6/2/2024 1 PM EST* Jensen is in Taiwan for Computex 2024 conference this week and did keynote tonight (this morning for us in NYC EST) Per Investors Business Daily (Ed Carson): “Nvidia will roll out Blackwell Ultra chips in 2025 and a new Rubin platform for 2026. On the fiscal Q1 2025 earnings call on May 22, Huang said Nvidia would design new chips annually. The chip giant had traditionally produced new platforms every two years: Ampere in 2020, Hopper in 2022 and Blackwell in 2024.” So Blackwell is at the end of this year, then Blackwell Ultra next year, then Rubin 2026. Companies not able to spend the CAPx or on board will be left behind and deal with the consequences later. (In my opinion). I could be wrong … but I’m not.

700 Tops is what the 4090 laptop already gets at 150w. Seeing as Blackwell is all about Ai I'd expect it to reach 700 with much better efficiency. Pair that with a Strix Halo CPU & your off to the races. 50 Tops from Strix for on the go work & 700 for serious work at home, I get about that from my 4070ti & it can run llms locally at lightning speed. It's Vram that'll be the real limitation.

AI is a tool, what matters is what we create out of it... and as we all know we can use tools both ways. No BIG surprise from Nvidia in this presentation besides how deeply it's connected with Taiwan and important for its silicon/semiconductor shield. Same old AI buzz mentioned many times before, now on even larger and more powerful already announced Blackwell chips, servers and racks + AI's further implementation in robotics and factory simulations thx to Omniverse and digital twins. Nice to know next gen Rubin chip is in development and what we can expect in the future... On the other hand good old video game roots of Nvidia r now buried deep under thick AI layer worth trillions of $. NV Link Spine is also worth taking note because of its elegant elimination of excessive rack cabling as well as Earth 2 digital twin amazing simulation and prediction possibilities.
