I wanted to shoot a bonus video, but my butt hurt.
The only thing I have now is “wish you a happy new year”.
But I am not feeling happy. Six butt injections didn’t cure my cold.
So my butt hurt for nothing.
With the heavy cold and pain in the butt, I struggled to finish this long video.

I built an outdoor playcenter for the kids yesterday, today and deep cleaned my mini van for almost 3 hrs tonight, washed tons of dishes, did about 5 loads of laundry, made 2 full meals, petted my dog, played with the kids and picked up some trash along the roadside. This is very touching. This is basically how my life was during my childhood. Same local language, same rice growing process, same cooking, same bamboo furniture, same environment. But after my mom passed away when I was 12, and I went to cities for study then, life had changed dramatically. Now that I am in Canada alone, I occasionally cook some traditional food for myself too, but not as good as these. Great to watch these videos and to bring my memories back to old times. Thank you.

Love from Australia. I’ve been to the remotest (Grassland) part of Inner Mongolia, it’s so serene and calm, the road network is ultra modern though and mostly ran by solar power. Four decades ago, we Chinese didn’t have enough food for our usually big family, so we saved all the NICE things till the Chinese New Year, including the meat, egg, sugar and fabric .. etc, which were all distributed by the government under a ration system. Ours were really great mothers. They managed to hand-make nearly everything for the whole family, from big dishes, small cakes to clothes and shoes. Putting on new clothes and having a big dinner with family while fireworks lighting up the windows were the most beautiful memory of the childhood of my age.

I agree to disagree ;-) There is no "the best", only preference! China, Korea and Japan have that knowledge, Korea and Japan gave it their own touch! I personally prefer Korean cooking, then Japanese (not Sushi ;-)), and Chinese, not necessarily in that order, it depends on the mood, the time of the year and who is with me ;-)
