122/82 130/76 108/68 150/90 90/60 112/72 These were the numbers i got when i did this my first month of nursing school and watched this video. The standard is within 4. I was spot on or within 2 on all of these so i felt good. Anyway i wanna say to all the nursing students out there just starting school, this is MUCH easier in real life, when your instructor isn't standing over our shoulder and making you check off on it.

Thank you. I'm 16 years old and i was trying to learn to use the sphygmomanometer today and was able to measure my dad and my own blood pressure. I had to learn it for my dad who recently had a mild stroke and my mom who also has high blood pressure so I'm learning to use the sphygmomanometer to help them keep in check so I'm thankful for this video it helped me learn a lot

Great teaching tool! I used it for my class. With this remote learning, such posts are very valuable. Just a gentle recommendation: the needle moves too fast. The standard rule for blood pressure measurement is 5 mm/sec as you let out the air from the Riva-Rocci cuff. Sometimes, the rate of deflation was 10 mm/sec. An MD may be okay with it but to a newbie, this may be a bit challenging. If the needle were slowed down, (I don't know if the simulation machine can do that), then the readings would be much more accurate for the students. Thank you for making this fine video.

This has been by far the best explanation ever! My NREMT is Monday & I kept having issues with the basics. I was a covid student& basically had to teach my self, didn't get to go on clinicals or anything. Thank you so much !!

Omg tytyty i Never understand this til now my teacher told us to add 30 to the beats you didn’t hear it when first pumping, and then decrease it til you hear the first beat on the down. I was like what…? And she still made it more confusing for me to understand. But this video here with the actual practice really helped out. It’s so simple and straight to the point, my professor just making us take the longer way to get BP done.

Perfect!! Now all I want is the WHY's..... WHY do you hear the first Systolic beat of the heart once the sphygmomanometer pressure is reduce from it's highest pressure???? I'm guessing that the cuff pressure is greater than that of the heart pressure so preventing blood flow & therefore no heart beat sound detected in the stethoscope. WHY do we NOT hear the pulse through the stethoscope when the pressure is reduced in the sphygmomanometer i.e the diastolic?????? ANYONE??
