Whether the defense needs Costello’s testimony or not, he should be put on the stand to expose the corruption in the DA’s Office. People have a right to know how slimy their DA is and that, if he doesn’t like you, he can deliberately withhold evidence of your innocence to get you convicted. The prosecutors may have absolute immunity to being sued for misconduct but they should be disbarred for it.

They don’t have absolute immunity, in a case as bad as this that immunity can easily be removed. The immunity only applies for legal acts within the scope of their duties, everything heard here falls so far outside that scope claiming immunity is nothing more than a stalling act to the inevitable accountability that is to come.

This applies to ALL government employees including judges and prosecutors, withholding exculpatory evidence to gain a wrongful conviction can result in criminal charges, judicial immunity is not absolute and never has been.

Why would Trump’s team not call Robert Costello to testify? He’s virtually unimpeachable as a witness. Any cross exam by the prosecution would land flat with the jury, and his testimony for the defense could seal the deal for an acquittal. I understand being confident in your case, but that could be for a hung jury as it currently stands. Costello testifying has no risk for the defense, and potentially devastating evidence which could get an acquittal. I hope they call Costello.
