I'm sick of being scared into voting for someone that does not represent my ideas and stances. I was feared into voting for democrats since the first time I voted for Gore. Amy Goodman is great. We have something similar to DemocracyNow in Spain. The front presenter ran for president and he did very very well, he's probably going to be in the parliament and bring big changes (his name is Pablo Iglesias, his movement is Podemos). See where I'm getting at? If not Bernie, we still have people who can capitalize popular movements into votes to bring changes. Creating media is important to impose OUR consent.

You don't have to toss it, just do what I do, watch CNN for entertainment and a laugh but otherwise ignore it. I never get my News from TV. People need to do their own research, think critically and remember the details. Too often they take their news at face value even knowing the big networks are owned by a handful of people who have a very clear agenda. Having the access to the propaganda is key to seeing the bias and the spin and understanding there is a psychological war. I see it clearly watching the way they spin shit. People forget News anchors aren't supposed to be celebrities(another propaganda topic) and they treat them like celebrities and let themselves feel connected to them when they should be thinking about how they tell the story and what it means.

The only issue I see with the checkbox idea is that sadly people have conflicting "facts". For example, the left (and science) says climate change is real, but the right says it isn't. So when a politician speaks about changing our carbon footprint to minimize climate change and some news show marks it with a ✔️, a republican would simply dismiss that news show because it has "liberal bias". It's not going to change anyone's mind. That said, it's still entertaining for us on the left. I suppose making no political difference while being entertaining doesn't mean it isn't worth while.
