As being German myself, i haven´t been notified where my shelter is, yet - how can that be? Noone is panicing out for now. We use to have cellars, anyways - and WW2 bunkers in close range (i could reach 2 of them in a 5 min. walk). No clue what´s so special with this attack, it happens nearly every day, not to mention the FPV drone chasings on civilians in Kherson. The restrictions on systems, like the SHORT RANGE ATACMS shouldn´t have ever existed, imho. More concerning is, that those restrictions even existed on the Patriots and Scalp/SS the whole time, since they contain a few US parts as well. Let´s be honest, if the US would have sent a small batch of the already written off vehicles and planes, currently rusting in storages world wide, or used the lend-lease at all, the situation in Ukraine would look pretty different, now. Also the irony, that the US was trying to de-militarize Europe for decades, which was a full success in Ukraine for example and blames Europe not to do enough - ofc they have to ramp up, but it won´t happen in one night - most of them already bought from the shelf (mainly F-35, Himars and some THAAD), but a change is coming - Trump´s election just speeds up this process. Look at the US itself, how many of the once ~50 weapon companies survived, 2 or 3? What happened to all the others? $810bil annualy for defence and that´s all what is left, 2-3 options only? It´s also amusing how people (not only Americans) desperately try to turn Trump´s statements and actions into something good. He said this and that, but...He was just joking, he´s gambling, blah, blah. Most of the nonsense he says, will eventually become reality and some Trump voters will realize it, pretty soon^^ Fact is, all big economies are interlinked, what hurts one, will affect the others as well. The losers of a trade war will always be the poor countries, since they can´t afford their daily food, anymore. Furthermore, Europeans always have another option - yes, the East. What Trump is doing with these Tariffs, is to force Europe into exactly this direction, which includes China, btw. We saw that happening in the UK and others will follow. And then the other point, the weapon industry. Europe needs to ramp up anyways, so: i´ll predict a huge boost in cooperations on this sector and heavy industry, funded by the EU on top. Several projects are already running and being tested on the field. Macron (France) was demanding more independency from other markets (pushing european company cooperations and contracts, in order to reduce production costs) since forever and with the latest changes on the energy sector, trying to create more diversity and new green technologies in Europe, it may could really happen. Also, the UK needs a good trading partner badly, sooner or later, they may will be forced to join the EU Customs Market, since it´s right next door, even though Starmer refuses to do that, atm. Trump created over 8 trillion dept in his last term, a lot of it caused by tax cuts and Tariffs - let´s see how it turns out this time. Free markets is the way to go, in order to create growth, Tariffs are counter productive, they always have been. Wow, what a novell and I haven´t even started, lawl Let´s come to an end and find a conclusion: We all have to find out, if we want to defend the UN Charter and the borders, all countries once agreed to, or do we want to fall back to the darkest centuries of history, when empires and dictators pushed borders like Mikado sticks?
