Luke Bullitt wow excellent translation, sometimes it's a marvel how brilliant humans are capable of being. It's the whole stereotype of being a "manly-man"; men and boys shouldn't have to feel as though it's wrong (or some other word I can't think of) to cry or, as flowery as it sounds, be in touch with their feelings. Same can go with females - it shouldn't feel wrong or inappropriate or whatever to do "fill in the blank for whatever typical 'girly' thing there is to do". God this is such a long winding paragraph, but the main thing is that these stereotypes (again, another word for it could be societal standard - a big, fancy word for ya) and all stereotypes as a whole (whether it be about race, religion, etc.) will be here for a long time. It'll take years to change a person's perception of another person and for it to not be of that stereotype. Not even sure that makes sense honestly, but I'll post this anyway I guess. Have a fantascular day, I suppose

I hadn't put too much thought into gender equality lately, but this video made me want to speak up. And when I did, I got a lot of horrible, sexist comments from some men (boys, really). It just proved to me not only that gender inequality really does still exist, it also showed me that it's deeply ingrained in people's brains that men are superior to women. That got me so heated and it got me feeling so defensive and so passionate about women's rights. I really hope some light can be shed on this topic and I thank Emma for being brave enough to begin doing so.

Many anti-feminists don't have any experience with sexism so they don't understand. Growing up I wasn't allowed to do most things because of my gender, my dad would always say "you're like a boy!" like it was a compliment or something, everyone around me always made me feel like being female was a bad thing and not just me people around me have experienced inequality because of their gender. The one thing I don’t understand is when people say that just because a person is an actor they can’t talk about their opinions or say how they feel. Like, they are people too with complex emotions and opinions just like yours. Emma is a highly educated woman and she’s worked hard to get where she is. She isn’t afraid to make fun of herself and she acknowledges that yeah, people aren’t might not listen to her because she’s just an actress. But that’s honestly not fair. People always ask what celebrities think then bash on them for having an opinion, or taking a stand for something that is affecting them. If I were a celebrity, whether an actress, or an author, or an athlete, and I had a substantially large group of followers, I would use my influence to create a positive change in the world. I would speak up. And that’s what Emma Watson is doing. So all of the people trying to belittle her message because she “portrayed Hermione Granger, she’s a famous actress,” fuck off.

I love Emma´s speech so much because she goes on to explain what feminism is so well. The fact that men and woman should deserve equal rights its the base of feminism instead of the popular belief that by being a feminist you are proclaiming ultimate hate to the opposite sex. Emma explains how she has been sexualized by the media since she was very young and how she was called bossy as a child for expressing her thoughts out loud. She speaks for all women while saying that she thinks it is right that we should be able to make decisions for our own bodies. I have respect for Emma and every single woman out in the streets fighting for a world where we don't have to be afraid to go out on the streets wearing short shorts or crop tops because men will think "we are looking for it". Emma is such an inspiration to youth women and we should all look up to strong women like her.

It goes without saying that these are “First World problems.” In far too many countries around the world, women still lack basic rights and patriarchy remains very real (though it is worth noting that even in those places, men and boys often have to deal with gender-specific hardships, from forced recruitment into war to mass violence that singles out males). But in the industrial democracies of North America and Europe, the revolution in women’s rights over the past century has been a stunning success - and, while there is still work to be done, it must include the other side of that revolution. Not “he for she,” but “She and he for us.” Cathy Young is a contributing editor at Reason magazine. the assertion that violence by men toward their female partners should be singled out because it’s a bigger problem than female violence toward family members. Meanwhile, in Watson’s native England, activists from women’s organizations recently blamed the shortage of services for abused women on efforts to accommodate abused men (despite the fact that, as Guardian columnist and blogger Ally Fogg demonstrated, even the lowest estimates of the prevalence of domestic violence against men suggest that male victims are far less likely than women to get help)." The Guardian. people are waking up "Until feminism recognizes discrimination against men, the movement for gender equality will be incomplete." “Gender equality is your issue too.” That was the message to men from Emma Watson, Harry Potter star and now United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador, in her widely hailed U.N. speech earlier this week announcing a new feminist campaign with a “formal invitation” to male allies to join. Noting that men suffer from sexism in their own ways, Watson asked, “How can we affect change in the world when only half of it is invited or feel welcome to participate in the conversation?” Truer words were never spoken. Too bad they are belied by the campaign itself, which is called “HeForShe” and asks men to pledge to “take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls” but says nothing about problems affecting men and boys. time.com/3432838/emma-watson-feminism-men-women/ FEMINISM IS HATE, IS SEXISM. Briana 7, because most feminists believe in things like male privilege, a wage gap and patriarchy, which have all been debunked by people who have any common sense. (Emma even argues that the wage gap is a real thing in an interview, which just makes her seem misinformed). In my opinion someone who cares about equal rights, is just a normal decent human being. Calling yourself feminist does nothing, except associate yourself with all those crazy people that do the same, especially since being a feminist can mean a dozen different things depending on who you ask. The dictionary is no help, because what that says, and what feminists actually fight for, and have done in the modern age, are two very different things.

__jocelyn__ 25 Men and women are biologically different... You have to be a serious idiot to be a feminist. All the feminist bullshit can be debunked so easily. Look why are women sluts and men players. Because you need some skill to get a woman in your bed. For a female its the easiest thing ever. Why are women 'objectified'. Look men are objectified too. But less than women. Why is that, because men like to see naked women more than women like to see naked men. Pure biology... Why are 95% of the criminals men? If we follow the feminist logic its because in our culture the bad guys in movies tv shows books etc. are always men. So hollywood is extremely sexist towards men then... We all know thats bullshit, its because men have testosteron which makes them more agressive... Same thing with why there are more men in politics. Men tend to take the lead naturally more than women. (testosteron). Why do men like sports more than women and why do boys play with trucks and girls with dolls? Due to different hormone lvls, has been scientifically proven. Why are there less women in stem fields? Feminist says it is cause of the culture wich is biased. Well lets look at the medicine field then. Very prestigious. Docs make way more than the average computer engineer. And its culture was years back dominated by males and biased against women. Now women dominate medicine. How does it come that women flood some studies and why do they stay away from others while the culture was the same (both male dominated)? Biological diferences. In medicine you have the 'caring for other people' aspect which women love. The wage gap myth has been debunked time after time... Look people there is no injustice in our society towards women... Almost if not all can be explained due to biological differences. Also feminism makes women unhappy. In the 1970's women were happier then in 2017. Research has confirmed this. Also like in more conservative regions with more traditional gender roles women are happier then in liberal regions. Research has also confirmed this. Men are men and women are women. Lets keep it that way

Who are you anyway, to play the judge and jury, as you seek to superimpose your absurd worldview and deluded mythical claims, based on so-called "research", upon everyone who don't agree with the lies, hypocrisy and nonsense of feminism and feminists? Understandably, you are another one of the typical airheaded and allergic to common sense "I-know-all" narcissist feminist, preaching her pearls of wisdom, that neither make sense nor hold any merit, but still everyone must accept them without any questions asked, for sake of political correctness. Is that why all feminists despite their claims of being "intellectually superior & genius brains" with so-called "pathbreaking research", to back their mythical claims which they try so hard to pass around as so-called "research based facts", such sore lonely losers incapable of making an honest living & thus finding honor living off welfare or inheritance like parasites, while ultimately ending up in lunatic asylums and the streets? Understanding of the feminist psyche of crutch mentality, and lies of feminism which are all absurd claims without substance and bereft of common sense, doesn't require any "research" or "study", just the application of simple common sense is all it takes to dismantle every single one of the lies and every absurd claim of feminism and feminists ... In simple words, all feminism and feminists can do, is only whine over anything and everything, manipulate truth, distort facts under the guise of "research" because feminists and feminism are allergic to common sense and everything else that doesn't confirm with their idea of matriarchy and gynocentrism, which keeps them in business. The absurd interpretations and claims of feminism and feminists, made on basis of fake studies and their perceived fantasies, can only amuse losers who have zero capacity to make an honest living while lacking the caliber to take ownership of their actions, together with their inborn ineptitude to take responsibilities. Therefore when feminism and feminists claim anything as wrong, basis their so-called "research", the truth, facts and reality are always to the contrary.

@gonzalorepresa96603 жыл бұрын
Well, i'm going to explain you why has become so hated with the example of my country: Spain. Here feminists have created a fascist law called "The Gender Violence Law", which literally punishes more harshly a man that hits her girlfriend/wife than a woman who hits her boyfriend/husband. Even if the woman started the aggression and the man is defending himself. That's a criminal law based on the perpetrator instead of the act, and is typical of fascists states, like Hitler's, Mussolini's or Franco's. And that's not all: They have created an old age pension law which privileges women, they are against shared custody (and they are eliminating it), they have opposed to creating a phone number which would have helped men and lesbians victims of domestic abuse (the current number just protects straight women), they are against paper aborrion, etc. There's nothing wrong with defendig women rights, but many feminists attack those who defend men's rights (like Warren Farrell, whose talks have been boycotted by feminists).

Fiza Hussain Read every word feminists Why is it called "feminism" if it is "equality for ALL". "Fem" stands for Feminine which is associated with only WOMEN. No mention of "men" or "ALL". Call it "omniism" "omni" meaning "all" which would include both men and women. "Egalitarianism" is another example (Btw *disclaimer* the 'low self esteem' is not for ALL women mainly feminists and compulsive complainers) Go to Syria and change the world, fuck off with your bullshit feminist ways in Britain. The only thing that exists is a SLIGHT (not profound), SLIGHT social pressure for women to go for certain jobs and be certain people , which is decreasing as we speak and the common denominator is no fucking self esteem from women. If women stop complaining, they will succeed. The 5 most powerful people in Britain are WOMEN, because they shut the fuck up and worked hard. Also there is no wage gap, it is illegal to pay a women less than a man in the UK and it simply does not happen. So it is a 'MONEY' gap which exists purely down to no drive from believing feminist myths of the "patriarchy" etc - which ironically make women feel powerless and make things worse - like Jesus Christ go on with your life. Don't even try to bring up women not being paid for the time they take NOT WORKING to look after their babies and that Men should look after their babies as well. It is the biology/psychology that is sexist; I study psychology and IT IS A FACT that biologically the child begins more attached to the mother - therefore science has pressured women to look after their babies ( not society or men ). About the NOT being paid for the time off - the working world have a SIMPLE FUCKING CONCEPT : "Work hard get rewards, don't work get NOTHING". The 'rape CULTURE' I leave with Milo Yiannopolous to systematically undermine. Also ironically as someone who despises feminism, it's claims and how it's carried out WHICH DOESN'T EVEN REFLECT THEIR BULLSHIT DEFINITION. And I'm the one of many psychologists who are actually helping UK equality as we deal with low self esteem which as I explained leads to believing feminist and media myths that you can't succeed because of men (such as the "patriarchy") End of story, fucking simple isn't it Summary: if you read my comment properly, hopefully you realise that women have the same rights as men and it is actually their lack of internal confidence from external sources such as feminists and the media which contribute dearly to everything claimed to be done by "snide, privileged, men" If you still agree with "feminists" then I'm afraid you are deluded or more easily manipulated than the Paul brother's fans

Ella Any women who says she's "strong and powerful" is actually just an egotistical deluded cunt The Selected Read every word feminists Why is it called "feminism" if it is "equality for ALL". "Fem" stands for Feminine which is associated with only WOMEN. No mention of "men" or "ALL". Call it "omniism" "omni" meaning "all" which would include both men and women. "Egalitarianism" is another example - I don't know the roots but the meaning includes men and women (Btw *disclaimer* the 'low self esteem' is not for ALL women mainly feminists and compulsive complainers) Go to Syria and change the world, fuck off with your bullshit feminist ways in Britain.

Most people aren't against feminism because they want to keep women down. We are against feminism because we believe in gender equality. Feminism is "whatever is good for women is good, and whatever is good for men is bad". That isn't equality. If we want real equality let's start by coming up with a plan to eliminate the male/female life expectancy gap. What can we do to lift men up?

@Fiji Water Equality? Will never happen.
@infamouscrusader33634 жыл бұрын
@Fiji Water human rights? It's as if men's rights are inhuman. How is giving right for women to do what men do human? It's not that men are better than women because they do certain things like have a job or wear pants, the thing is that men and women are different. They have different roles and one excels more in one than the other. For thousands of years it has always been that way and it's not until now where these roles are under attack because today the world is only getting worse and one of the these reasons is the social engineering to attack traditional roles.
@infamouscrusader33634 жыл бұрын
@Fiji Water Again, it's about different roles. Men are just better at working and going overtime which explains the supposed "wage gap". It's not oppression, it's just that men get into in demand fields and work much more. Also, women are better homemakers and tend to have a better time working with children. Whether people like it or not, men and women have differences and guess what, there is nothing wrong with that because that is how it is intended and both need each other to get by. To degrade traditional roles of women and men is to downplay there roles which is why I do not agree with feminism, women liberation, gender equality or whatever it is people like to call it today. To say women have more meaning by doing what men is basically saying for them to have any purpose or value they must be like a man does. As a result, marriages are falling apart, MGTOW has spawned (you want to talk about women hating there it is and I am against it), the family structure being separated, and so much more which is no good.
@infamouscrusader33634 жыл бұрын
@Fiji Water How does society perceive men to be better workers despite of data showing that it is true? There is literally no stigma about men at work and women at home. Again, it's all a social conditioning for society to abandoned those roles which men and women have done for literally thousands of years without complaining and that is why civilizations have done well so what evidence do you need. Women getting assaulted and raped in places like the military and the office because they are clearly with women and tend to wear revealing clothing. It's no surprise that when most women started working outside of the home, infidelity rates within marriage has increased, cases of assault and tape have occured along with many youths losing their virginity. That also explains why there is so much abortion (and yes I believe it is wrong. It is has been proven that most abortion cases are done because it was out of inconvenience. In other words, men and women are irresponsible and ended up with a child they did not intend having). You want to know why the things you mentioned are happening, it's not because of traditional family roles, it's because we left those roles that we have been conditioned to stray from and therefore bring to us a falsity of choice between the genders.

she's making the problem worse. feminism is not only unneeded and distracting, its actually making things worse. women got equality under the law in the 60s. and after that, all the WRAs (women rights advocates)were disband. if youre looking to help, support your local MRAs. men are discriminated against in the legal system, the education system and we are seeing them get dismantled in the financial system. our men and boys are being abused and raped at far greater numbers than these poor oppressed women. feminism is cancer. everything about it is a lie. if it actually stood for equality, it wouldn't exist. women got equality under the law almost 60 years ago. Emma is right that men and women arnt equal. but she is deceiving you if she leads you to believe its women that have it worse. men are the oppressed ones. men are the ones taken advantage of. men and boys are the abused and disadvantaged ones, the silenced ones. how many MRA add do you see? how do you think a man would be treated if he claimed he was raped? do we drug little girls in schools to make them more palatable? men built western civilization by themselves. and they built it to gain the favor of women. men worship the ground women walk on. thats why we cover it in pavement, so your shoes don't get dirty. and how are men treated in response? feminism... its disgusting. @ablackknightcalledreality13429 жыл бұрын
+CZ "Something that has been proven time and time again" So I'm guessing: Men being drafted into war was part of their privilege. Men dying in the work place is part of their privilege. Men being told that there is something inherently wrong with them is part of their privilege ("Toxic Masculinity") Boys not performing well or dropping out of school as exams cater to girl's style of learning is part of male privilege. Men having half or more of their wealth taken in a divorce court because the wife said "I'm used to a certain lifestyle" is part of male privilege. Men having almost no custody of their children and never seeing them again is part of male privilege. The skyrocketing male suicide rate is part of male privilege The fact that feminists, who are supposedly "fighting for equality" , are saying things like "'#killallmen", "Put men in concentration camps" is part of male privilege The fact that uselful male dominated subjects like Physics, Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics are being underfunded is because useless "soft science" female dominated courses like Communications, Gender and Women's studies are a higher priority of funding is part of male privilege. The fact that said male dominated subjects are forced to have a certain number of women doing the course, leaving the majority of men that applied laid of and not getting their desired course laid of. Let's say, there's an Engineering course. There are 100 available places. 150 men apply, 50 women apply. Realistically, 96 men and 4 women would be accepted. (64% of men that apply get accepted), (0.08% of women that apply get accepted) Feminists would call this sexist. I don't think so, the majority of men accel at the harder sciences. Not saying men are better than women, I'm saying men are more suited for maths and the hard science for mainly biological reasons.(I will go through it if you'd like me too, but for now I'll try to keep it short). If you wanted an equal representation of the amount of people accepted, it would be, 75 men and 25 women being accepted (50% of men that apply accepted), (50% of women that apply get accepted). Feminists would still call this sexist, because "women are the minority in hard sciences", even though it's 50/50 for the people that apply get accepted, feminists aren't happy because all they see is 75 men and 25 women. What feminists want is 50 or less men and 50 or more women being accepted into the course. Let's just stick with 50/50, looks equal right? If 50 men and 50 women get accepted that would mean. (33.33% of men that apply get accepted), (100% of women that applied get accepted) Now that's sexist, against men. All of the women that applied get accepted and less than 40% of men that apply get accepted, because the college/university was forced by feminists and Social Justice Warrior groups to have an "equal representation of women". This takes place in the workplace as well, companies are forced to have gender quotas to have a certain number of women working otherwise they'll be seen as a "mysoginistic, woman hating, patriarchal, toxic masculine fueled man cave" in public light, which would be detrimental to their sales and profits, in some cases for smaller companies, it would lead them to bankruptcy. Men never had privilege, we just work hard and are rewarded for our work, rightfully so, everything you're using was probably built by a man somewhere, sometime ago. The reason why you think that "male privilege" is something that happens "subconsciously" is because you know that men have achieved great things throughout history, men have built great empires, destroyed great empires, invent the wheel, discovered new lands, built ships, made massive breakthroughs in medicine and science, discovered electricity, harnessing nuclear energy, protected and defended our respective countries in times of need, developed and invented the internet, invented the telephone, hell they even invented tampons. I haven't even gotten into the musical composers and literature geniuses yet, but I'm sure you know that men wrote masterpieces as well.

Gary Pendleton did you not listen to Emma Watson literally explaining what feminism means? You are thinking of misandry, and that means women seeing themselves as better than men. Just like misogyny is men viewing themselves as better than women. The whole systems wrong.

It amazes me that there are still men in the world that have viewed this video and still believe that feminism is directed towards men and the sole purpose of making men Look bad. I am 15 years old. I am a feminist. I do not hate men. I want to live in a world where I am not considered a "bitch" for having an opinion. A world where I do not get cat called by 40 year-old men. A world where my voice is not drowned out by the millions of men in the world telling me how to think, act, and look. Wouldn't you want the same for your sister, your mother and your daughters? Why is it so difficult for men to understand that the world does not revolve around them. I do not dress for men. I am not a feminist because I hate men. I just want to be treated as tho I am equal rather than inferior.

Shannon Conaty Read every word feminists Why is it called "feminism" if it is "equality for ALL". If women actually showed their "strength" and they went for higher paid jobs or men stereotyped jobs; it is actually a FACT from the ONS I can't remember their exact figure (but Milo Yiannopolous said it and it was undisputed- wasn't challenged by the cunt feminist who just changed the subject by shouting) anyway 'WOMEN GOING FOR MEN STEREOTYPED JOBS ARE MORE LIKELY TO GET IT' because of their gender, the company's fear of the repulsive feminist movement, NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE BEST SUITED FOR THE JOB (in some cases maybe, unlikely though) .Don't even try to bring up women not being paid for the time they take NOT WORKING to look after their babies and that Men should look after their babies as well. And I'm the one of many psychologists who are actually helping UK equality as we deal with low self esteem which as I explained leads to believing feminist and media myths that you can't succeed because of men's "privilege" (such as the "patriarchy") End of story, fucking simple isn't it Summary: if you read my comment properly, hopefully you realise that women have the same rights as men and it is actually their lack of internal confidence from external sources such as feminists and the media which contribute dearly to everything claimed to be done by "snide, privileged, men" If you still agree with "feminists" then I'm afraid you are deluded or more easily manipulated than the Paul brother's fans
@shannonconaty79097 жыл бұрын
Danny JC Wow ok, well all I said is she is a role model and you felt the need to write me a whole book about women are equal read over the constitution there is not one law in there about women's wrights or us being equal and as far as the word feminism meaning equal it means women so that's were fem comes in women's equality women fight to become equal to men. Men or at least white men had equality all along and black men had equality a lot before women or black women did. That's why there is no prefix of man or the word man in feminism. Are u happy now? And for u to think I'm brainwashed is the funniest thing ever because I am my own person with my own thoughts and you don't know my like that. So before you right my another book think about what I wrote and try not to just personally attack me stick to the topic feminism.

that cringey kid Women and men do earn equal for equal work (in the majority of workplaces) in most, or at least many western countries, but not in most countries in the world. It's also important to note that the wage gap (as in men DO on average earn more than women in every country) will become smaller when women start to reach for power and high positions because they want to, and men start reaching for family and more diverse types of work. There's nothing wrong with there being an average difference between genders, but limiting people because of gender stereotypes is wrong. Feminism, as in fighting for gender equality, is great. Sure, there's a lot of extremes (Buzzfeed), but that doesn't mean there aren't certain aspects of it that are very important and relevant to us. I think what Emma Watson says here is great, she shows what feminism is truly about, not what mainstream media paints it as. She is truly a role model!

Watching this from the perspective of an egalitarian, I think the hashtag HeForShe is a bit... problematic. It enforces the idea that men are the issue. I'd propose a better hashtag like #Equalism #Egalitarianism or even #Humanism. Thoughts? PS: The Factual Feminist believes in Emma Watson and I think she's right. Emma has a lot of potential to become a positive Feminism later in the following years. I have Faith in Emma.
@gregilyniak69949 жыл бұрын
+Teddie Sage I suppose the argument to that is, let alone he for she, why no call feminism egalitarian? And to respond to that it's because men in power do oppress women and stop us from achieving egalitarianism. Feminism is a mere tool to abolish patriarchy and achieve equality. So it is our jobs as men to be there for women, when other men are not. Thus why its called heforshe. It's not saying all men, it's saying that men should stand up for women because some men are the problem.

In Spain (my country) feminists have created a fascist law (called the "Gender Violence Law") thay literally punishes harder a man who hits his girlfriend than a woman who hits her boyfriend. In addition, they're against paper abortion, they're against shared custody, they're against helping any victim of domestic abuse who is not a straight woman... They even protested when some people a regional government tried a telephone number which would have catered abused men and lesbians too (the current telephone number only caters straight women). If that's not shutting down men, I don't know what it is. And you're saying that they don't do that because ONE feminist talked about male suicide ONE minute in a campaign called HE for SHE. Call it 'equality' instead of 'feminism' and you'll get a lot more followers, Emma. Feminism sounds like women should have more rights than men. I don't see what's wrong with referring to it as gender equality.
@sanjeen250310 жыл бұрын
A good point there, but actually the definition of 'Feminism' is about defending equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women i.e. being at par with men's rights in all spheres. Somehow a misinterpreted meaning of the word spread on social media like wildfire, and thus the situation of today.
@lizardmountain5410 жыл бұрын
Have you watched the video? She is stating that it is a shame many people are viewing, just as yourself, as feminism to be a bad thing when it is really gender equality. And the reason it is called feminism is because, in general, women are in the lower ranks than men. We need to raise female power without lowering male power.
@supzahra10 жыл бұрын
calling it equality would be ignorant. it would be an act of ignoring the mistreatment and discrimination of women and girls all over the world and it would be as if these rights did not have to be fought for. feminism means equality, and the reason being is that women are currently NOT subjected to equal rights and that is the truth. feminism is an act to achieve total equality between men and women as that is not evidently happening today or has ever happened previously. it means nothing else nor should it be perceived as anything else.
@eellss33310 жыл бұрын
Marina Levochkina "Have you watched the video" is something I keep seeing. As if her speech has redefined what everybody else has been doing. New age feminism in western countries is anti-science, anti-economics, anti-logic. In fact, "feminists" routinely deny that men even have legitimate problems where they are discriminated against. Feminism hides behind the shield of equality, yet does not actually seek it out. Calling it equality instead of feminism would detach it from the crazy scum on the internet. Communism is also a form of equality, yet, as with feminism, it is not desirable.
@TryHardSoviet10 жыл бұрын
Marina Levochkina I did not mean what you have interpreted. I know that feminism means equality, I did watch the video. I'm saying it should be just called 'equality' instead of 'feminism' because feminism sounds like women should have MORE rights than men. I know this is not the case, but that's how it appears and how a lot of 'feminists' actually think.
@ar7elle3 жыл бұрын
This is what real feminism looks like, an advocacy for everyone regardless of their identity. Emma Watson inspired me since I was also called a “bossy” girl because I was able to excel in fields they did not expect me to. And I think it is time that we start recognizing that the inequality between sexes still exist and the patriarchy is not only affecting women but people in general. Men’s masculinity is defined by their emotional suppression, women are still denied their autonomous rights, folks that do not fit in these boxes are not considered as human beings and are still struggling to receive the same rights and privileges. The youth should look up to someone like Emma who, not only cares for others, but also stands up for them. Some may call you a “Feminazi”, distorting what you are fighting for but this should not stop you from becoming the person that you wished to be there when you are treated as a second citizen in your country just because you are a woman. You are capable, just like everyone else, to bring change. Always choose to speak yourself even your voice shakes.
