@anabellac93294 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you are incorrect. The mask only works one way. It works to hold YOUR germs from others when you are sick. That's like covering your mouth when you sneeze. You cover your mouth to prevent the spread from YOUR germs. How does a mask hurt you if you're not sick? It hurts you because you are trapping outside air that enters the mask the same way that oxygen you are breathing enters while wearing the mask. Obviously you are still breathing in oxygen while wearing it otherwise you'd be suffocating. Its actually suffocating anyway because we are forced to breath in the bad air that's getting trapped in the mask. Think about this the next time you are out in public and you smell cigarette smoke. If you were actually protected from breathing in the germs people are exhaling or when they cough, you would not be able to smell the smoke people exhale when they blow smoke out of their mouth. The fact that you can still inhale smoke means your inhaling outside air. This mask wearing business is probably more unhealthy than just breathing in fresh air. On another note, just eat well and if you get sick make sure your system is already amped up on zinc, Vitamin C, D, and A. Drink plenty of fluids and eat organic. You might get sick but your immune system can take a punch. Be well and I'm praying that all who are sick have a speedy recovery. Don't dispart. Your attitude can also be toxic. Think positive about your health and your body body may very well follow suit. :-)

Agree. It’s one of the reasons we live recycling the flu in our workplaces and getting it over and over. I guess the viruses have become experts in mutating because of our high infection rate specially in the winter. Specially because there is no fresh air coming in, our buildings recycle the air just like in airplanes. I believe in Germany new buildings need to be built with ability to allow continued fresh air and direct sun light. It would be a great idea if we did the same. This 85 degrees heat inside hermetically closed buildings to allow us to dress as if it were summer in the winter with many times even 80 to 100 degrees difference from the temperature outside is also another discussion pertinent here. It never made sense to me. I hope we make progressive rapid changes to our way of life. It will benefit so many areas of our life.

However if you are following close to someone panting and you are panting yourself you are in danger of breathing in their exhaust air. The pictures of people running along paths and in parks right on the heals of others, and cycling hard very close to each other and passing walkers, are everywhere. And it's pretty obvious that the panting breaths are a danger. Remember the choir in America that socially distanced in a large rehearsal space? Something like 46 of them got sick and 2 died from 1 asymptomatic singer. When singing, like panting, the lungs are expelling deeply and taking the virus further with it. You can deny it, but the evidence of droplet behaviour is modelled and available if you look for it. Speaking normally we should be safe at 2m. Speaking loudly however needs further distance. Coughing is something astonishing like 5m for microscopic droplets to be propelled at high speed. Common sense and awareness of how this thing transmits is important in staying safe. The other venue he should have discussed is gyms. Lots of heavy breathing and the immune system is temporarily depressed after a bout of strenuous exercise (that may be why people get MRSA infections at gyms). Also, it is possible that the virus, like the 1918 flu strain and some other viruses, exploits the mTOR pathway and a lot of gym goers overuse protein supplements which act to bump up mTOR activity. If the numbers out of India are accurate (and that is a big 'if') that may explain the apparently low death rate - they don't consume much protein per capita in India. Scientific article on mTOR and SARS-CoV-2: Targeting T-cell senescence and cytokine storm with rapamycin to prevent severe progression in COVID-19 www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1521661620303193?via%3Dihub Overall, though, exercise is really good for one's health - probably the single best intervention. People should try to keep up with their exercise routines as much as possible by exercising at home or outside while maintaining a safe distance from others.

We miss friends and going some places, but we will see them again one day when things have had way more time to be researched, vaccine gets out there and hospitals are less overwhelmed. I am a retired National Laboratory Staff Scientist and now a high school Science teacher and I in my two years teaching Health class to Freshman I covered the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. Let me remind everyone, as I cover in my Health class, there is no reason to believe such a viral pandemic wont come back soon. With COVID-19 it has indeed come back. If COVID-19 follows the same path as the Spanish flu, it also came out in the springtime initially. When the Spanish flu emerged in the fall it mutated and became far more deadly and killed young people and young adults alike! If you think such a thing cant happen again, your wrong! As the Southern Baptist preachers always like to preach, "LEST WE FORGET...."

It is interesting that Erin Bromage said this on his website "For a reason unknown to me, my post titled “The Risks - Know Them - Avoid Them,” first posted on May 7, 2020, just took off." I think one of the reasons his post took off is because the media did not do as good a job to report as he did for us. He wrote the article in a very tangent and practical manner, using data and illustrations that are convincing and easy to follow. Most importantly, his post shows a purpose of educating people, presenting data and facts to people, instead of making people upset.

@paulgerg68794 жыл бұрын
@Castle Danger it is not the children dying that is the main issue with early years. Though even one dead 6yr old is still an awful thought. My main concern is their ability to spread the disease. Kids do not live in isolation from adults, they can catch the virus, which means they can spread it. 6yr olds, which is the age of children chosen by the govt. to return in June, do not have the ability to realise that mixing with their friends is wrong. These children will be from different areas of a town or city, will mix with different age groups and anything they spread will therefore be passed into the city in patches all over the area. A class of 15 kids, which is what the govt. are suggesting as a 6yr old class size, will probably have all touched each others stuff by the end of a day, simply through contact on surfaces or clothing. At lunch and breaks they will mix with other classes. If they are forced to stay apart during lunches, it will only be possible if they stay at their chairs. Even then, I have worked with this age group and they will end up touching each other. So although the odds of them meeting another child with Covid is slim, this is heavily negated by the number of potential contacts that child will have in a day. A choir of adults in Canada had one infected person, they maintained 2mtr separation over a 1.5hr period and used hand sanitizer and yet a study by the local Uni showed that over two thirds got the virus from that one person. If one child, in a school of children who cannot, due to their age, be expected to socially distance, may well infect lots of other kids even though they are less likely to catch it. They then go home and infect parents, many of whom will be at work because they have their kids at school. It is not infant mortality that is the main issue, it is their capability as superspreaders if even one child in the school has Covid. Especially as Covid has been shown to produce unusual symptoms in children, meaning parents may send their child to school because all they have is a rash, whereas in reality they have Covid 19. The other issue is that teachers will be constantly concerned about keeping the kids apart. How will yr 6 react if their teacher cannot hug them? Or when they get injured, they are met by an adult in full PPE. It is not the govt. sending kids back that concerns me, it is the age group they chose. An age that cannot realistically be expected to socially distance. Also govt has said it is to get parents back to work but in the UK the average family has just under 2 kids and usually one is older or younger. By choosing a single age group, the govt. is making parents drop off one child but still have the other at home. So most parents will still have to be at home anyway. What annoys me is that if the scientists took this into account, why did they still choose 6yr olds. It just seems an odd age group, considering the challenges it places on staff at schools. An older age group may have a slightly heightened risk but less chance of mixing.

Introversion has nothing to do with being shy or antisocial. Introverts love people just as much as extroverts. Introverts (or those with introverted tendencies) tend to recharge by spending time alone. They lose energy from being around people for long periods of time, particularly large crowds.
