We used to always, always, ALWAYS, have a female nurse in the room as chaperone when a male doctor was doing an exam on a female or a child. Because we knew better. It was also important for protecting male doctors from any hint of impropriety or God forbid a false accusation. Doctors would just say it to your face, very matter of fact, "Excuse me, I'm going to do the exam now and I need the nurse in here to chaperone." No one thought it was in the least weird because EVERYONE KNEW that a percentage of males simply could not be trusted. Common sense reality admitted by all sensible and reasonable people. Now we have male nurses performing intimate procedures on female teens who are unconscious or semi-conscious or mentally infantile and are shocked when one of the men does something horrific. Why? We all know what's possible.

I'm going to say something controversial, but before I do - I want to be clear, I also want her to recover. She suffered a horrendous and undeserved ordeal. And these rapists should face everything, that the justice system can throw at them. She has also been very brave throughout the trial, which has helped and encouraged many victims. HOWEVER. I don't think her attitude to sex crimes was particularly healthy, until she discovered what had happened to her. He had propositioned their 9-year-old Granddaughter, which she knew about. He had told the girl he'd buy her something, if she'd pose naked for him. Really, that would have been a deal breaker in many marriages. But she just continued living a life she described as 'perfect and fulfilling', with a husband she thought she was 'lucky' to have. I can't imagine the betrayal the child must have felt. And she was very willing to stand by him in legal proceedings, for his upskirting in the supermarket (even when he admitted it was true). Until she discovered that SHE had been a victim of mass rape. Her daughter has also suggested, she was dismissive of the daughter's despair - when it was discovered, he had taken indecent photos of the daughter, too. Maybe she was the victim of brainwashing. But we shouldn't forget some women stand by sex offender husbands, simply because they don't want to lose their relationship/lifestyle. I hope that wasn't the case here, especially in relation to his sexual interest in the Granddaughter.

He was really careful and manipulative. She just thought she had a nice husband who dotted on her, liked to cook for her, and was taking care of her, while instead he was spiking her meals and drinks. He was supportive, went to medical appointments with her, confirmed the symptoms she had, asked for doctors to find what she suffered from. When it was found she had sti's he acted surprised and accused her of having an affair. The guys he invited needed to be freshly showered, weren't allowed to smoke, drink, wear any type of anti-perspirant/perfume/after-shave, they had to be well-groomed from head to toe so she wouldn't be awaken by a smell of odd scraping or could question any rash or irritation in the morning. If ever there was a guy that came around during the day to speak to him and she asked who it was, he would make up realistic enough stories like it was someone who wanted to buy his bike, or someone who he was helping out with something or other. It'd be difficult to imagine that after 30-odd years of pretty much picture perfect marriage your husband started drugging you so he could watch you getting assaulted/raped. It just wouldn't come to mind in a million years. Medical issues made more sense to her and her family than thinking the husband was this evil and perverse. The guy even recorded/photographed his daughter in law naked in the bathroom, and daughter naked in bed while she was asleep. He just never got caught until that security guy flagged him in the grocery store for up-skirting women, called the cops and told the women to file a complaint.

why wasn't he charged with sex trafficking?
@fakadak115 күн бұрын
Because the one thing he didn't do was to illegally transport his wife to a different country. He did all that in their own home.

I always wondered the same thing. Was reading about murderers a couple days ago and before this 24 year old undone this 92 year old, he raped her first. I'm just like, umm.....why?

His wife isn't the only woman he's done this too. Apparently he's linked to his daughter's rape and other victim that was raped and murdered.😢

It's a disturbed mind that normalizes such behavior. Our society is broken when people treat each other this way. Very brave to speak out on this!

This investigation reveals a deeply troubling and complex situation that raises serious concerns about safety and justice. It’s unsettling to think how such issues could go unnoticed for so long. CNN’s reporting highlights the need for stronger protections and more awareness to prevent such tragedies. What measures do you think could be taken to ensure this never happens again?

Parents raising boys and young men with a conscience morals and the ability to understand that sex is not a right. With this outlaw of pornography and sexually explicit material online and in media is needed.

@DiscoveryGlobeLifeDocumentary . Keep disseminating info. And maybe - each time you publish, make reference to other major cases currently happening - e.g. at the moment, P. DIDDY, and THE TWIN ARCHITECT RAPIST BROTHERS in America. Information should equal power.

People that want to break the law are going to break the law, more laws don't fix this. Also this is very extremely uncommon and you don't upend the world to fix something like this at best you can encourage people to come forth with the info. Stop trying to play the role of the caring person, you are terrible at it.

Why don’t they ever release the men’s identities.
@Miettes-ti2oj11 күн бұрын
They release the men's identities as soon as they're convicted, the PRESS just isn't interested in the men's identities. BBC has published the list of names, but who cares? No one is interested in a list of 51 French dudes' names.

Very disturbing and unsettling. Really if you can not trust your own husband who can you trust..what about the wedding wows? You can't even trust your own neighborhood? Thanks to that Security Guard who caught her husband, if not, this would be going on with her today. Gisele, women all over the world are behind you and praying for your strength and sanity. After hearing this story I have lost faith in men....this happened within a 30 radius? This has pulled the curtain...no place is safe.

Whenever I am about to visit my home country, Iran, people often ask me if it’s safe. What they don’t usually consider is the relationship between so-called developed countries and safety for women. In over 20 years, I’ve experienced more antisocial behavior in developed countries than I ever have back home. The media has done an incredible job of shaping people’s perceptions-stopping them from thinking critically and simply repeating what they hear.
