I cried hearing Huijae day “You’ve worked hard”. Coach Hyun was and is still my favorite boss. Even though people looked at him as a greedy boss (for food), annoying, bossy, a nagger but I think that he was a softie. He only did what he did for the players. Also the part where he forces players to come with him, I think he just wants to spend time with the players and it truly shows how much he loves and cares for the players and vice versa. I want Coach Hyun to become a Coach of LG SAKERS forever but I know it’s not possible. Love you Coach Hyun.

Same here. It maddens me that people are hating Coach Hyun when they didn’t even watched the previous episodes. So I’m commenting this here for those who says that the coach is always lazy, complains a lot and likes to blame others. FIRST, the coach is NOT lazy. A senior staff of the LG Saker who known Coach Hyun since his first day of being a player of the same team said that back when the coach was still playing, when the practice is at 7:30, the coach shows up at 5:30. He starts practicing before anyone does! That’s dedication AND commitment - which a lazy person does NOT possess. (If you want to see this yourself, check out the episode where the team performed rituals to kickoff the 2019-2020 season.) Which leads me to say, this is probably the reason why LG Saker hired him as the head coach even WITHOUT prior coaching experience. They trusted him because of the work ethics he showed and how he always went the extra mile when he was still a player. As far as I know, Coach Hyun is the only person who went from being a player to a non-experienced head coach of the same team in KBL. Maybe you’re saying he’s lazy because he couldn’t sit on the floor that long and he walks slowly. Well, it’s a discomfort for him. The coach has bad knees. There’s water in his knees that’s why he has to retire early because he has to get treatment. SECOND, the coach is NOT always complaining. The coach does express his dissatisfaction like the other bosses do, like you and I do. If you watch the episodes from the beginning, most of the time the coach’s complaining is a way for him to make the other person annoyed, it’s like his way to show his affection. His complaining also brought him closer to the team. Watch his scenes with Coach Kang, Seongu and the players and you’ll know. If you don’t like Coach Hyun because he was complaining about portion. Well, it’s for entertainment purposes. That’s why Boss Yang has his way of eating too (which most people complained about too). These people need to have a trademark for the audience to remember the show better. 🙂 THIRD, the coach does NOT blame others. Because if he does, he would not have held himself responsible AND accountable for the team’s lackluster performance this season. There’s a line that goes: “Once you climb the ladder of being a good leader, you will have to own up and be responsible even for the mistakes you didn’t make.” The basketball league ended early due to Covid-19 and his team was on the 9th spot out of 10. Coach Hyun resigned from his post as a head coach of LG Saker because he blamed himself for the team’s poor performance. In an episode, Kim Sirae called and told the coach that he should NOT blame it ALL to himself because the players has contribution to the scores too and it’s not all his fault especially most of the star players are injured. But then for the coach, it was STILL his fault since he wasn’t able to tap into the potentials of the available players and he wasn’t able to supplement the lackings and shortcomings. Tell me, is this what a person who blames others do? If you see the coach blaming in a clip, it’s for entertainment purposes only. So don’t take it seriously. All good? For me, I admire the coach the most. LG Saker may have placed on the bottom of the rankings this season. But the fact is that Coach Hyun was able to bring out the best in the players and help them improve. For example, Huijae and Dongryang’s performance and achievement this season - the tears of Yanggu and Manila has finally paid off! Coach Hyun was also able to make the team more united and cohesive. TL;DR Watch the show starting from the first episode and you’ll know why many admire Coach Hyun.

This video really made me cry so hard. I first watch the show when I saw a clip of couch hyun eating lechon ( I'm from Philippines) and then got addicted and started watching from the beginning. Same goes to volleyball player before they dont stay long on the shows. Athlete off season only long for 3 month and that is their only resting time and gather with family..

As for the player, the coach is like a father, friend and family... Since they always together... Just like Coach Hyun players, I think Hur Jae players also think the same. I have watch one show where Hur Jae family go to an island together and one of Hur Jae players saw it. He said that although Hur Jae like to curse when they don't play good but as for them Hur Jae is like a father.
