Man, I used to agree with that statment. Chatt-Town as we used to call it, was one of my very fave cities. My parents moved there about 5 years ago. I travel there regularly and was there last week. Is it just me or does Chattanooga slipped? It doesn't seem to have the appeal it once did. Its a lot more run down in spots. Chatt is good but used to be great.

After hearing Coach Saban speaking to Pat and the Boys....I can see why players want to play for him. What a soft spoken, articulate man who no doubt knows football but also really seems to know how to develop young boys into men. Wish Alabama all the luck in the upcoming playoffs.

If you think he's soft spoken when coaching, you haven't seen how he is. He's far from soft spoken, a different man than you will ever see on here. Look back at one of the episodes with Pat with his right eye full of blood. Doctor told him it was from yelling. He screams, he yells, he cusses, to his players and staff. That's how he gets what he needs out of them.

Some players need a hug, some need some time on the bench, and some need a kick in the a$$. Every player he's ever chewed out publicly, on tv, has gone on to be great in the NFL or successful on the college platform. So get outta here with that. Him continuing to coach like that and prepare boys for the real world is why he's the greatest of all time. Shame.

This outrage about Florida St not making the playoffs just makes absolutely no sense. So many saying Florida St should have made it, not Alabama. At the very least the discussion should be about Texas. But Alabama? Seriously?!?! More people than I realized have lost sight of reality. The top 4 is about the 4 best teams, not the 4 teams with the best record. Remember that huge mistake last year with TCU making it because of their record, the most lopsided win in history with Georgia beating them 65-7, the worst championship game ever? They didn't belong there. The CFP put them there just to appease the masses and it backfired. So let's look at the facts. They made sure not to let that happen again and got it right in doing so. 1. Alabama beat Georgia, the 2 time reigning national champion. 2. They beat the team that had the longest win streak in SEC history. 3. Georgia was the number 1 team who dominated everyone with some really good teams.. 4. If Florida St had made it, the line playing Michigan would be double digits in favor of Michigan!! The line for AL/Mich will possibly have AL, the number 4 team, favored by game time for goodness sakes!! 5. Florida St was dependent on a single player, Travis. When he got hurt, they look like a high school team squeaking by number 16. 6. FL St strength of schedule was 55th. Alabama's was 5th. 7. Not a human on this planet could watch the ACC championship and the SEC championship and say Florida St was better. There is no comparison. 8. Georgia is favored by 14 over Florida St. If you want to make bank, take Georgia. It will be a lot more than that. I'm figuring 28 plus, easily. Cant believe it is so low. 9. Alabama would also be favored, possible by 17. 10. Both teams being favored is game set match on the entire argument. A team that is favored so heavily is somehow the worse team? Do you really think Vegas got that so wrong with georgia by 14, and alabama that would've probably been 17? How can you say a team favored by 14 is worse than the other team and belonged in the 4?!?! 11. Alabama's only loss was to the number 3 team. Please explain. I've not heard one single argument that makes sense about Florida St belonging instead of Alanama. Its all "undefeated!! Alabama lost to Texas!! Florida st beat LSU!! FL St defense is elite!!" And the dumbest question is "then what's the point of playing games?" I can answer that. To be able to prove you belong in the top 4. That's why. The ones that are in the top 4 proved that they belong because of playing games. Florida St., your games did not prove that. So that's why you play them.

I'll even help you with that by plucking several hundred more that didn't cover. Games with teams that don't cover spreads are about half and half. So that's completely normal. What is not normal is teams favored by 14 or more outright winning. Hell teams favored by 10 or more losing outright only happened 31 times this year out of over 1,000 games, 14 or more points less than half that. In other words, line makers when picking teams at 14 or more point favorites are correct on the outright winner 99.2% of the time. Out of those, there are always several that are flukes, where the W did not mean they were the best team. Think App State beating Michigan. But still not even counting the one off upsets that are flukes, if you use the criteria for who the best team is by who wins, that means Vegas knows who the best team is 99.2% of the time. So are you saying that they got it wrong? That Florida St. is better than Alabama? Come on man. Texas shouldn't be in. Michigan, Washington, Florida State and Alabama all went undefeated in their conferences. Texas lost to Oklahoma. Its the fault of the playoff committee for equating a non-conference game (Alabama vs Texas) and a rivalry game (Texas vs Oklahoma)

Texas beat Alabama IN Tuscaloosa. Really not that hard. Oklahoma didn’t finish so well but they were a top 5 team for a couple weeks and rivalry games are always tough…just look at how bama barely beat auburn

Strength of Schedule: FSU - 55th, Bama - 5th. FSU had their chance to join the SEC in 1991, but they wanted to be in the ACC specifically because it would be easier to win all the games. It worked out pretty well in the 90s but now it finally came back to bite them.
