nice to see someone who understands the importance of taking the head off the centerline and and not coming in strait up ...always allowing the head to shift slightly off center as punches are delivered and always moving it off center at the finish when counters are coming for sure

Some gyms do bag workouts for strength and conditioning and I don’t like much that. I like the bag for finding my range and working on technique. Bag work doesn’t keep me honest. If I slack on head movements and level changes, the bag won’t catch me. The bag is convenient because it’s always available but I need to work on footwork, body positioning, level changes, and head movement. You can do that on the bag but I just don’t feel like it’s keeping me honest. Plus there’s a visual reaction of seeing the shoulder movement of the opponents faint or punch and reacting to that accordingly. Also, thank you for putting all these videos. I have so many injuries and can’t really train, but this does at least keep me thinking about it

Great advice. Me I'm getting to old for sparring heavy but still enjoy the training after all these years. Still want to keep enough in the bag should I need to use it. Perfect advice with train how you want to fight. Don't need nothing fancy but make your basics punch perfect with educated movement & you will always be a hard target. Perfection is never achieved but always strived for 👊

stumbled upon ur channel. Thx for the lessons. I just joined an LA Fitness and they had heavy bags and I automatically started doing this without ever knowing how to box. But of course not as clean, purposeful and powerful technique as yours. It was really fun though and it makes a lot of sense!
