I spent the entire 24 years of watching my three sons play baseball as far away as I could get from screaming parents in the stands. My boys all faced similar situations on the field as you describe as I sat quietly beyond the fence somewhere in the shade. I believe they loved the game and had fun. Now their mother and I follow and watch a local college team. We encourage them, laugh and cry with them and let them know we will be there cheering them on win or lose. We say "atta boy" a lot. Wish I had said it more to my boys on the ride home from the games.
