I’ve been a solo car camper at Coachella since 2006. Bring a battery fan/hand fan,electrolyte drinks,oranges,apples,snacks & water! Budget for meals inside festival,$30-$60 a day. A bag of ice is $12 in 2022. It’ll be super hot during the day & cold & windy at night. Double stake (use plastic stakes, no metal ones) your tent or canopy so it won’t fly away while you’re enjoying the music. Lock up your tent with a tiny lock while you’re away. Don’t drink too much or you’ll miss out. Wear a bandana over your mouth & nose. The dust will get in your lungs & you’ll get Coachella cough for weeks. On the 1st day inside the festival, I head for the merch store to get my T-shirt’s before they get sold out. Prepare to stand in line for a long long time everywhere….. Be self contained. Brought my own portable toilet & shower enclosure. Didn’t feel like walking 10-15 minutes to the bathrooms. My personal comforts for 4 days car camping anywhere. Less stressful all around. 😊

Definitely make sure u get out 10 min before the headliner closes, saves up so much time on getting out of the parking lot. It could take up to 45 to an hour just to get out 😢

Tent has to be approximately 10 x 9 to fit into space & not overflow into someone else’s space . I think the entire space is 30 x 10. I have an FJ cruiser + 10x9 tent + 3x2 shower enclosure. Everything fit.

Soo excited! This will be me and my besties first Coachella! I have one question, I’ve been watching lots of videos on how to prepare. Basically, we’ll be shuttling from LAX to Palm Springs and back on Monday to catch our flights home. I know it’s normally a 2ish hour drive but I saw one video where it took upwards of 8 hours to get back to LA just because of all of the post festival traffic. I will definitely plan accordingly with that in mind, but I just wanted to know how much truth to that statement there is :)

LAX to Coachella is almost 3 hours and with traffic I can see it taking 4-5 hours. 8 hours if there is accidents or during easter weekend and everyone is trying to leave the city.

Coachella Weekend 1 crowd was a nightmare on top of short staffing, cutbacks, flooding port o potties, lack of running water/drinking water and kind of a whack crowd. Weekend 2 better be smooth this year lol

First time going, doing solo tent camping. Doing international travel. Doesn’t make sense for solo to buy all the stuff (canopy, tent, ice cooler etc) on top of travel (shuttle + GA. + food) + lockers to store some other luggage securely. Makes sense to find somebody to share a hotel room. Does it make sense? Or I can still survive without these logistical essentials? Am I overcomplicating things? + any idea how LAX Shuttle arrives at the venue? Like everyone else? I hear tent camping has a parking lot separate, for those who get in by shuttle we do the walk? I’m hyper planner, otherwise I’m stoked about going

Get a cheap tent&sleeping bag. Easy snack food that won’t go bad right away,oranges ,apples,chips,bottled/canned drinks (no glass drinks!) & put in a insulated grocery bag. Some come as backpacks. Easy to carry food. Make it simple. Free shuttle to nearby food market too. Economical if venue food is overpriced.

yes its better to stay at a hotel and spend the money that was going towards all that gear. Its more expensive but you will also get abetter rest for the festival.

Preferred camping (lot 8) $375. Closest walking distance to the venue entrance. Regular car camping & tent camping $149. Outer area of camping sections. Walkable. You’ll be doing lots of walking anyway. Besides there are lots of activities to explore before you get into the festival. There are rickshaw drivers to get you around. So no worries .

Radiate is an app for festival goers. Make a post on there and see who’s looking for roommates. Twitter or instagram under the official Coachella account make a comment or look for people in the comments. Make sure you talk to them and are not bots.
