I've seen this movie so many times because it is my favorite one, and just now I noticed something... Earlier in the movie, on Sunshine's first training session, he was having a hard time making a 3-yd pitch in a veer play. "You can throw it a mile but can't make a 3-yd pitch" Boone said to him, and asked Rev to show him how to do it. Fast-forward to this scene... Rev's out, injured. Ronnie comes in, makes a statement after that hit... and what is the very next play in the sequence? A perfectly executed veer pitch... and then, in the locker room, Ronnie thanks Rev for teaching him the play. What a detail!

Thats a baaaad white boy. I love that quote because it shows that the black players had respect for their white teammates. The team was unified and had each others backs.
