What an amazing clip of varying types of footwork. I think Emma is so graceful on the court. Great work, Ryan, pointing it all out.

Hi Ryan, I think the right hip twists heavily into the ball first to initiate the shot. The hip relaxation afterwards causes the right leg to automatically move forward. Andi

Awesome, awesome stuff. If you're a weekend warrior or a club player, it is likely you're not doing what Emma is doing, or doing it only part of the time. Question is, how does one imprint this into his or her brain?

"Running to the left the last foot hitting the ground should be her left foot." Does this also apply to a onehanded backhand on the run?
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis 2 жыл бұрын
One handers are a bit different. If you can get your front foot down it’s best. But if it’s a dead run then what I taught applies. Thanks!!

@@2MinuteTennis Thanks Yes that video i already watched it , after i watch her match with Linda Fruhvirtová she changed completely her forehand and backhand seem more powerful than before , even she retired with Kužmová but u can see for Set 1 Emma lead 6-0 this is first time i see her change since last years but unfortunately she was slippery that make her ankle hurt , I hope she ok and can play Australian Open.

Why do the returners try to hit a backhand with topspin on it, instead of just returning a slice backhand which is easy and more controlled?
