We discuss the Bills roster and depth charts at wide receiver and tight end. Who takes the final wide receiver spots? How big of a season can Dalton Kincaid have? And we explain how training camp works for the media.

It's weird for me talk about Claypool as a depth piece because he feels like one of those guys who will either be a starting boundary receiver or off the roster completely. In other words, motivated or unmotivated. It's not like he suffered a major injury after his first two years that led to his decline. He's still a supreme athlete who has put up WR2 production at this level. Only boundary WR on the roster who can say that.

This receiver core is either going to gel and boom, or just be mediocre and it's possible Beane might have to trade for a true #1 before the deadline. I'm pretty optimistic that the tight ends and run game will be consistent at first, and eventually the receivers will gel and we're going to be a top 5 offense when it's all said and done.

Claypool has a bad rep for not working hard/blocking in his stops in Chi and Mia..maybe he now realizes its time to really work..if he lets up just once in TC then its over..Go Bills!!

Claypool for sure. I saw Shorter in person at camp. He's slow. His running gait is very odd and I don't see him ever being an NFL WR. Hamler makes PS and Claypool has a very relevant role.

We’re so close to the season. Like to me I’m in football mode. I’m checking other teams rosters, I’m checking injuries.

There is no way they do not keep three tight ends. They have changed this offense with the last two drafts and Joe Brady. This is a very good running team and they do it as a unit and a big part of that is the tight ends. Morris and Mckitty are built more like H-Backs even though they will not be used that way. I am really hoping Ray Davis and this Unit run with a little more power and take away all those short yardage/qb sneaks from Allen. There is no reason to keep risking him in regular season games.

Whoever makes the most contribution on special teams makes the roster. As the season grinds down, I can see claypool adding value in the red zone. The guy needs to focus and get his head straight as he has the best combination of talent, size and potential of the three. Hamler, unfortunately, has a glass body and can’t seem to get through a full season. The Bills cannot bank on him. Shorter was a flyer draft choice and with so many other big WR types he’s the odd man out. Claypool.

Bills would be best served if Chase Claypool handily beats out the competition and is clearly better. He has the most upside.

There is only one WR that has a connection with Allen and that's Shakir. Allen trusts Shakir because he's proven that to Josh and then some. Some of Allen's best throws last season were to Shakir.

Hamler should make this roster! His speed to stretch the field is greater than mvs or anyone else...he can win in multiple ways and can be very explosive for the offense...Shakir,samuel,hamler, coleman,mvs,and hollins or Claypool is the question! Claypool makes the roster its because he was better than hollins....

Regarding Kincaid, he had 91 targets last year after being hardly involved in the passing game the first half of the season. I'd assume he gets 120 targets this year. My guess for him is 85 receptions and, at 11 yd/catch, 935 yd. Some projections for the top WRs: Shakir 68/90 for 1020 yards Samuel 53/80 for 583 yards Not sure Coleman will have huge yardage numbers this year (though he may be a big red zone target). You're going to have Knox, Cook, Johnson/Davis, and the other WRs producing a decent bit each. I'd say 35/55 for 490 yards for Coleman, but that's a total guess.
@WhopperWhopperWhopper247Ай бұрын
Tyrell Shavers should be ahead of Shorter. Also I think MVS and Hollins will eat into Coleman’s workload more than expected

Gabe Davis was not a good player, he was an inconsistent average player. Every team has players to that get 800-900 yard receivers and they are all avg as well also.

Gabe Davis has bad hands and can’t run routes. How many times during his Bills career that he would drop a pass from Josh that was right in his hands or he ran the wrong route.

I’m not sure why some people think Shorter doesn’t have potential? Watch his highlights, check his metrics, look at how cheap he would be for a couple years. Outside of fools like Marino just trying to make content I haven’t seen anything that makes me think Shorter is a bad receiver

This is weird to say for a day 3 selection but I truly believe that Justin Shorter is the worst pick Beane has made in Buffalo. That’s how I immediately felt after the selection and I’m even more convinced now. The only real competition is Boogie Basham but at least there were reasons to believe that Boogie would be a useful NFL player. I was begging for a WR too, mainly speedster WR Trey Palmer to at least be a field stretcher and returner, but the fact that Shorter went ahead of Puka is very unfortunate. Shorter just doesn’t have anything to offer and would’ve been available as an UDFA
