Plus, birth control was very iffy, but a woman had to do her duty, so to speak or deal with his consequences. My Dad cheated on my Mom many times. Yes. he was gone a lot working. I under- stand. But he had access to the only vehicle we had, leaving her without one, way out in the sticks. She had no family around, no close neighbors, no vehicle, FIVE children under 12, one being physically handicapped & the farm & animals to attend to. She had a very difficult life, while he was out "working hard". [He even tried to take what little money she had stashed that her Mom had sent her.] Yet he had the nerve to call her a w****. I knew he had affairs, cuz one of the husband's of his mistresses came looking for him & shot him.
