Coal Mines in Staffordshire

A selection of photos from Harry Waltons collection taken at various coal mines around Staffordshire - Harry worked mainly at Mossfield & Hem Heath, he is pictured on the photograph lowering the men down the shaft at Stirrup and Pye Colliery Colliery.

Worked at Silverdale from 1975 to 1982 then Hem Heath 1982 to 1990. Then Back to Silverdale 1995 to 1998. I wish I could turn the clock back!

A Stoke lad, failed my western area interview. I recall those pits. Went to South Yorkshire and did well,, Undermanager when I left.
