Over the past 5 years Australia has seen a substantial increase in the production of coal seam gas Australia wide State and Federal governments have failed the people of Australia by rushing approvals for large scale coal seam gas operations throughout Queensland. .
The potential for completely destroying aquifers, river systems and the best of Australia's food bowl is becoming a reality. Beyond the watch of the government and the industry, it is imperative that both CSG employees and the general public begin taking an active role in monitoring coal seam gas and shale operations. The aim of Gasileaks is to hold both government and industry accountable for actions that threaten the well being of communities.

It would be good if the The Project spent time focusing also on the Coastal Erosion thats been happening and getting worse especially here on the Mid Nort hCoast ,and beaches are one of our biggest tourists draw cards

Bloody politicians. It matters not which flag they apparently work under they're all the same when it comes to spiv and spin. Of course, fighting the miners is expensive as the system is geared to protect those with money and influence at all levels. Human life matters not to the board members of the huge conglomerates as they plan their latest fiscal 'kill'. I have a friend living on a lifestyle allotment near Tara in Qld. He is a fair distance from the nearest fracking well yet toxic chemical from the discharges at well sites have been detected on his property. I wonder if the mongrels behind the fracking think of him as they retire to their beds each night? I wager they don't.

Exactly. There's an overview of High Court Rulings on trespass on the peopleoftheCommonwealth blog. A real test would be if someone physically prevented the gas company from installing their equipment, or destroyed the equipment and the company sued them. That would be a test case. Ultimately though, this is a political issue and requires Electors to notify their representatives of their WILL. saveoz.info

@PeterLean While I don't live on the coast I know the threat this insidious industry brings to my livelihood & our children's future. CSG = No Farms = No Food. If we have no food & contaminated water there won't be tourism either. Not to mention that the mining industry employs less ppl than ag & tourism and takes workers from both. Just saying.
