Can't go wrong with action like that and especially the coal over coal scene then add in the general Freight. As for the CSX train could have been green but when it went to the old Junkie covered hoppers MWCX those are cars in phosphate service rolling off their last miles. Note the stains and rust and effect they're all used cars including some from Milwaukee Road Rock Island Northwestern and now a batch from ADM. Impressive cool train and a caboose was a perfect clincher in fact that train actually had a fair number of non rotary bottom dump conventional hoppers which on the NS is a dwindling number. No more fretting over 92 ° days as follows here and winter is lurking. Truly today's action-packed adventure so thanks for taking us along

NS has 45 locomotives in the 7229-7339 range and are SD70ACU rebuilt from SD90MAC by NS and Progress Rail. 11 are in storage. (I wonder where?)
@cp368productions22 жыл бұрын
The ones he recorded are no longer owned by NS. NS sold a lot of the ones they rebuilt, these are some of them.

I live in Huntington, WV. The reason that coal train was stopped for so long is that CSX had trains to run on their tracks. Once their traffic cleared they allowed the NS empty coal train to pass over their tracks through the NS Kenova yard and proceed to Williamson, WV to be sent to a mine for reloading.

JT and 1960 gambit in West Virginia, so cool. Kenova is quite a place to watch trains , especially going over under each other. I saw that same leased set of locomotives in another one of your videos seen in Marion Ohio. Really do enjoy your videos JT. u an 1960 gambit seemed to have formed a tag team of sorts lol. Any news about the rail strike, haven’t heard anything yet. Thanks for sharing and visiting my home state JT.👍🏼loved seeing the little red caboose on the rear of that coal drag, that was cool too.
@kevinrichards32882 жыл бұрын
Back in the day before FREDs, defect detectors, & other technology the railroads have nowadays, whenever you heard "the end of a train, or last car on the train", a caboose was what you thought of, except on passenger trains because the conductor could easily find an empty seat onboard. Seeing that caboose with the cupola brings back good o memories.

Last night when I picked my son up from preschool, a rare coal train went by on the NS line next to his school. Usually they're mixed manifest or the occasional intermodal.

interesting with all those I assume SD90 macs and csx meeting the NS coal train and I'm assuming CSX Grain train nice caboose too on the end of that final coal train

For the NS SD70AC UNIT'S the horn is as louder and the locomotives are definitely in progress so yes it's really while the trains staying in storage it's good business. I'm looking at the NS coal train NW caboose and we saw a dpu. It's a CSX grain, coal train is a awesome manifest in west Virginia.!!!!

Coal trains are my favorite, even though they're not as common anymore. Where I live, there are probably 6 coal trains daily, three loaded going to the power plant and three empty returning.

Area I worked in the mid-70s, the B & O ran behind it into Cumberland, Md. Big Grain Car Train going into Cumberland . We heard a loud bang , brakes squeal, sparks , half the Train stopped. Turns out a air hose either failed or came off. Every car from there back went into emergency. The force of that pulled the whole front of the Car off. Grain everywhere. Eventually they set the damaged car off to the side and anyone that desired could take all the Grain they wanted. Good video ! Thanks.

The reason the coal train with the caboose had to wait is CSX had traffic to run through the area. Once their trains were run through the area they allow the NS empty coal train to cross their tracks. That empty coal train was probably destined for Williamson, WV to go to a mine for loading. By the way I live in Huntington, WV and I used to work for PTI and used to haul crews to where they needed to go.

92° but still with a hint of snowflakes in the air and pending winter. Warm weather goes so fast up there, doesn't it? I wonder if the NS locomotives are cheaper by the dozen. Not so my Krispy Kreme donuts. Those Robber Barons have the cash to buy new locomotives outright... don't need any savings. Sorry for the rant. Have a nice day. RT sends, Puebla, México.
