Sir I'm a little bit confused about taking admission in old nits and new iits. My gate score is 604 cse(gen). I have seen that some of the new iits like iit patna, jodhpur etc have really improved a lot in terms of placements from the last two years(maybe because the interviews were online) even better than old nits. So should i consider joining them? If interviews will again be offline then will the placements rate will also go down? Also does this iit tag really matters when you switch jobs? My wholr concern is just placements.

bhai maine low score 562(obc) ki bajah se abhi tk coap mai register nhi kiya tha aur mujhe laga sayad registration close ho gya hoga like ccmt mai 20 days ka time limit hai...but abhi maine check kiya ke registartion open hai..so mera question ye hai ki is score par mujhe spot round mai definitely kuch achha mil skta hai ...to kya mai abhi registration kr du COAP portal par??

Before COAP process begins. They shall mail all of the students who filled the form for that IIT. After interview they will shortlist on the basis of merit from GATE Score and interview marks

After interview they will make a merit on tha basis of Your GATE score n interview score. The final result will only come at coap. Before coap they won't reveal it to you thru mail

Yes whatever IIT you want to get admit into, fill individual form by going to the website of that IIT. There will be some fee wrt every form. Fill out the forms before end date approaches. Then offers will come to u at coap portal depending on the iits you applied to

Sir, If we select the "retain and wait" option for a particular branch in IIT in a round, do we definitely get the option to accept that same offer in the next round or it will be like this, that in the next round we may or may not get that offer again even after selecting "retain and wait" for that offer in the previous round. Hi If you retain and wait in round X then in round X+1 you will surely have that retained offer from X round along with the retain & wait option again

Yes you will have the retained offer with you. You can accept that or retain that again. Else you can also retain freshly X or Z now

Interviews are conducted before coap process. IISc will tell you in advance that they are conducting interviews. The coap offer is made after the result of interview and gate score are combined in merit. So do not worry. The institute in which u apply will tell you about interviews in advance.

Yes. If you do not get any offer in round 1 the coap will display , " There are no offers at the moment. As and when the offers are made by the participating institute, they will be displayed below". So come again to coap portal in next round and check.

TA and RA are two different things . In coap you will get result of TA only. For RA you will get mails from different IITs if you are selected.

Suppose that I get offers from everywhere in 1st round but doesn't get offer from IIT Bombay. In this case, I will have to retain and wait by taking any other choice and wait for the next round. Suppose in the next round also, I don't get IIT Bombay. As per the rules, we can't retain and wait and wait any choice for more than 2 times. In this case, what should be done? Should I freeze the choice in the 3rd round itself? One more thing, if I freeze my seat in normal round in any other IIT, will I be eligible for participating in spot rounds of IIT Bombay?

You should take the decision based on what you want and what offers you get. If you accept and freeze then you are out of the coap and cannot take part in any subsequent rounds
