It's probably just me being confused when reactors state that they don’t understand what Rio is saying in his native tongue(Spanish); and I get it! Especially if you don’t speak or understand the language. But then when the subtitles are there; but you then say that you're not going to read them is puzzling to me. That's WHY you are getting such backlash! Clearly, others (including the 20 or so other reactors I've watched for this freestyle thus far) aren't having the same issue. If we weren't doing so ourselves, we'd agree with your response. Other reactors are catching everything and even explaining certain aspects of Rio's bars that I didn't immediately understand because I wasn't familiar with the reference. Honestly, this is the first reaction video I've watched that had such a negative reaction to Rio's part. At least recognize that the issue is NOT that Rio is rapping in another language nor that his verses were "weaker" than the others. It's simply that you can't mentally and auditorily multi-task fast enough to enjoy non-English verses with subtitles. No shame in that. I think the core issue that is causing others to react so strongly is that you didn't even bother to try! Worse, you made it sound like it wasn't worth the effort. So, you came across as biased and lazy rather than unable. Trust that viewers wouldn't have cared if you stopped the video 50 times if it appeared you wanted to give Rio's verses the same respect as the others. I was enjoying your reaction until Rio's part, so will check out other Coast videos hoping to see a more open-minded approach. ❤

He's the calmest and the most humble because of that. - Taj (imo) is the leader, the balanced one that combines the smoothest flows with the deepest bars. This gave me the vibe of someone who is a major 'foodie' not wanting to eat at a highly rated restaurant just because that restaurant doesn't have a drive through. Like you have every right to pass on it, but if you like food as much as you say, do you realize how many flavors/dishes you're missing out on by only eating at places with a drive through? Rio’s verse in Spanish contains a lot of euphemisms and sayings that you only get if you do know Spanish. The English translation doesn’t capture that magic or the rhyme schemes. The reason they use subtitles is so people can catch the wordplay. This is actually the first freestyle where they translated Rio's verse. Up till now even the subtitles have been IN Spanish. I don't speak it but can catch words here and there but the dope part is that the Spanish words rhyme while the English does not. They reside in Cali so the Spanish connection for Rio works as well as in other countries around the world. Hip Hop is global, you got Emcees from every part of the globe and they don't rap in English.....

One thing I've done foolishly in my youth was deny other languages just cuz i couldn't understand them at the time. but soon realized that knowing many languages opens so many doors for great opportunities. Im hispanic and i denied learning spanish and i regret it cuz now they demand you learn it today! I've been listening and I'm also a fan of old school hip hop like a tribe, ll cool j, run dmc, wu tang, and countless others from when lyrics meant something. Coast is a breath of fresh air, and as a latina/hispanic I really love Rio with the spanish, knowing spanish and english is like feeling double the energy when it comes to this song and their other free style ones. BTW, I started listening to old school hip hop when I was about 10 yrs old and I didn't know english so I didn't understood it back then but I felt it. Just a humble opinion here 😅
