It's the law now, you must use weighted rope, either leadcore or add wraps of pencil lead to your floating rope every few feet. Another tip is in shallow water crabbing, I like to coil the extra rope and half hitch each end or ziptie with an extra 5-10 ft. of slack for incoming tide, this way with 40-50' of rope in 10-15' of water you won't have all 50' of rope to pull in! Works great. I liked the added decoys for floats!😂👍

50 feet of lead core rope is plenty. You can get away with 30 feet crabbing in shallower areas. Buy the 100 feet of lead core rope and cut in half to use for 2 traps!
