Should have painted the fencing and house a darker color so they would disappear and they plants would have stood out even more. Over all, nice improvement.

it is okay. Sadly, guy is not as good as Jason. I think Jason had more character than this guy Charlie. I think you need to get him back and have Charlie as assistant (like what they did in uk with garden force... )

Why someone would take the unnecessary effort of jackhammering holes into the concrete for the deck posts is beyond me. Could have easily just used post brackets or adjustable feet over the concrete part of it.

For everything you build I wanted to know just how much did it cost in total in material cost, excluding labour. I think that will really add some valuable information. You keep saying budget friendly, low cost but how much is low cost ? Seeing cost really defines these parameters. Just my veiws..

I agree, I feel like a lot of the touches they added without much saying can't have been very cheap, like the dining table and chairs or all those different plants

Those tall cactus are not beautiful at all... and he placed those all over the passages of the garden, by the corners and edge of the garden beds, people will scratch their legs on those cactus all the time, I’m already sorry for their poor dog who will be the number one victim of those cactus... poor decision. The little olive trees look sad in front of that ugly fence, didn’t make a difference, maybe in 15 years...
@M.Campbell2 жыл бұрын
Can't really fault Charlie on his technical knowledge, but he certainly doesn't have Jason's warmth and relatable personality. The garden is nice, except for three things. That rusty colored grass just looks dead. The circle of lawn is going to have dog urine burns all over it in no time and the olive tree was trimmed up a little too high. The neighbors windows now look out on the garden. Before they couldn't see through the foliage. Oh well, not my garden.
@devoncsmith269610 ай бұрын
That rusty dead grass you call is a type of Carex grass species; they can be either green, reddish brown or bronze in colour. One of the reasons Charlie trimmed up higher is to allow more light into the tree and by thinning out the tree canopy to create air flow and circulation. It also adds space for a table and chairs to fit under so there is more room to walk past by the side of the house than what the owners couldn't do before.

Charlie: As an ugly American (that woyld be me, you're English in an Aussie landscape home show)...Even w closed captions service, your NAMING of The Plants you used? Was USELESS. 2nd plant came across: "my celi" with coppery branches... Wanna tell me what plant that was? 1st one: "elio carpets humundi"....riight, mate. And, what plant IS THAT PLEASE? Charlie: Great Home Ideas: PLEASE put graphics up in the video, OR, list the plants you use, BY NAME, in the Video Description? Yes? Please? Thank you!!

I’m surprised you didn’t cover up whatever was on the brick of the house. It’s a real eyesore, distracting you from looking at the garden. Also you can’t have a needle cacti like that with the dog, it’s gonna come in the house pricked with a million needles every time he goes out to play! It’s a beautiful garden design, but that wasn’t very smart!

Looks absolutely amazing! The only thing I’d do differently would be to pre paint the deck boards all 4 sides. Last much longer and no warping from freezing temperatures in our cold winter climates of BC, Canada. Plus of course a little different plants for our temperature zones. But easily swapped out by following your blueprint. Great way to hide the fence💕
