When I went to Hershey park last year they were stacking 3 trains like cmon I waited over 2 hours when I finally got inside station everyone was walking slow taking their time I was saying to myself this explains the wait time. checking seats the board was coming up on 2:50 min on the timer ⏲️ at almost every dispatch they should be more aggressive with guess boarding with loose articles because that’s what causes the delay 🤦‍♂️ i’ve seen fast dispatches at Six Flags great adventure, (home park) but Hersheypark staff needs to get their shit together!

The ONLY thing weird about Hershey’s customer service is there isn’t a door to guest services from outside the park. I left my debit card inside the park and the next day was told it was in guest services, so I had to get escorted into the park by two security guards and take them away from what they were actually doing to go get it

As a Hersheypark regular your exactly right the only thing setting Hershey from being perfect is ride operations. Either than that everything is amazing whether its the insane roller coaster lineup, the decent waterpark, the chocolate world, the atmosphere, the zoo I believe Hershey is one of the best if not the best amusment parks in the country and world.

As someone who is on Orion crew this year, I love to trash Candys ops every time I’m there. We all stack and have our bad days/hours but For a B&M to be operated that slow with 3 trains consistently, is just not ok.

There are many factors that contribute to the slow dispatch times, not just the operators. For one, guests getting on and having to put all their loose articles in the cubbies, and the ones who don’t take them off at all and it has to be done once they’re already sitting. They also need to see that all seatbelts are fastened before the restraints can come down. They’re also working for 14 hours in a million degree heat.

the main thing is the seatbelts, and the lack of “fast operation training”. as an op at hershey we are very firmly trained on guest satisfaction and safety over operations. Now i could not tell you why, but we do have one of the best track records in the country when it comes to safety.

I went to Hershey earlier this season, man do they have horrible operations. Triple stacking on every 3 train coaster. Fahrenheit was especially bad because they take 3 minutes to dispatch 12 people. Then you’ve got Storm Runner, sitting in your seat for 2 minutes ready to go before they dispatch you. Hershey and Cedar Point seem to have the worst ops as of late.

I sincerely hope that your positive approach to constructive criticism reaches the right ears. Some days I get pretty frustrated with how slow things are moving, especially if I've recently visited Great Adventure, Cedar Point, or Knoebels. Really it's only ride ops and a few better food options separating Hershey from being the perfect park. Also, really appreciate you using the station music over the Wildcat footage. They went hard on that soundtrack and it's perfect hype music!

HP is my home park, and I'm so glad you mention the ops. The ops have been so bad this year that I'm not going to renew my pass. I would rather drive an extra two hours to Great Adventure then deal with the horrible ops. HP is such an awesome park so hopefully they can get it together. Great content man! ❤

I just spent 2 days at Hershey! My first time there! It's a great park! Yes the constant double stacking on Candymonium was annoying, they certainly could improve upon operations on that ride. Candymonium is an excellent B&M hyper though! I rode it twice. Other coasters I did: Fahrenheit Wildcat's Revenge(a little too intense for my liking) Lightning Racer Skyrush (twice, once in the front) Storm Runner Comet (PAINFULLY slow operations!)

how you think i feel, i was there that day and missed them, when they were entering the queue for walk on Fahrenheit i had just gotten off of it as the only rider in the train(it was amazing) and i seen a bunch of people coming in as i was starting to go up the lift hill and at the time i didn't realize it was them. so that's crazy as im a huge El Toro Ryan Fan, it is cool and disappointing at the same time knowing he was there and i missed him

I was just at Hershey last week and the wildcat crew was whipping out trains so quickly and consistently at the end of the day that when the train on the course went through the final barrel roll the next train would hit the bottom of the lift hill right underneath. It was epic to go through

I was there last week too. Wildcat crew was awesome, always a 20 min wait or less and minimal to no double stacking. Meanwhile Candymonium double stacks literally every time. I know there are many reasons why slow ops might be out of their control (guests taking too long for whatever reason) but when it happens every time it defeats the purpose of three trains.

Hershey Park is easily one of the best parks I've experienced, but I totally agree with your constructive criticism about the operations. Wildcat's Revenge had flawless operations in 2023. The park's B&M's have embarrassingly slow operations. Candymonium should be pumping out trains much faster, especially considering it has fewer rows than an lot of other hypers. I look forward to trying Skyrush with the new restraints next time I visit.

Controversial opinion: I’ve been to BGW, Hersheypark, Dollywood, Dorney Park, Kennywood, etc. and out of all the parks (I’ve ridden every coaster in each, including launched Lightning Rod and the original Wildcat at Hersheypark) Phantom’s Revenge is my number one and I don’t think anything is going to top it. The ejector is unreal.

Ryan, I absolutely agree with you about the operations. Was just at great adventure for the first time in 6 years and the operations stood out as better. I honestly rather have rides with no lockers and weaker operations than having to pay 10 dollars for quicker ops. But yeah the stacking sucks, just the nature of the park having bins for items, then every ride having seatbelts

Hersheypark is great, but the operations are defiantly the low point. They only have fast operations in the last 15 minutes when the ride-ops want to leave..

One exception is Wildcat's Revenge. It almost always have super fast ops in my experience. When they're running 3 trains in summer, it's one of the shortest waits despite being arguably the best ride. But certainly the other coasters range from mediocre to horrible in terms of ops speed. Comet is especially slow dispatching, and the low capacity on Fahrenheit, Laff Trakk, and Cupfusion mean I almost never ride them.

They’re not getting ding-ed by industry professionals for slow dispatch times, but they will if their staff are cutting corners on safety procedures in order to get faster cycles. Ride Ops are also a lot of high school and college kids who are just working a summer job - and that’s just the nature of where they’re located. And most of the time it’s the riders that are causing hold ups.

Yea I’m with you on the operations. I have season passes so I go here pretty often and the operations are the only thing that I’m frequently disappointed with. I don’t know why they’re so bad. It makes no sense to me with a park of this caliber. The only ride that isn’t usually like that is wildcat. That line usually moves quite a bit. But yea, like you said, just something that they can work on.

Still frustrating that the belts are so short on Fahrenheit and Storm Runner when compared to other Intamins like Maverick. I have several inches of belt left on Maverick, but I barely fit on Storm Runner and don’t fit on Fahrenheit 😢. If anyone’s got any pull at Hershey, please get them to fix this!

My hot take... skyrush and candy are better than wildcat. Compared to gwazi and steel vengeance, Wildcat felt like a mid ride after 3 runs and low wait. Plus wildcat felt very short in comparison. Gwazi remains my number 1. Pray to cedar fair that they do Ka right and not as is rumored. That back row launch is just too nuts and nothing compares to that launch power

The seats are more bucketed, you’re further back in them and all the quick snaps the train does from being banked one way and snapping the other used to try and break you in half, the new seats take all that away… it’s dropped so far for me because of it

Honestly, what is up with Candymonium's operations? Is there something they have to do at Hershey that they don't do with B&M hypers at other parks? It's just agonizing waiting for that ride with a train leaving about every 5 minutes. Ironic that at Hershey the RMC ops are fast and the B&M hyper ops are slow.

Well, it’s not mandatory for people to put their things in lockers before going up to the station like at Wildcat, so guests putting away loose articles or not taking them off at all until they’re told slows things down. The old skyrush restraints made the ride feel almost unsafe with how little contact they made with your body which added that intensity. If they would speed up the top of the lift hill back to the 2012 operations then it would be just as insane.
