Coaster Insider Tour at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Team Joshifer took a recent visit to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and took part in the Coaster Insider Tour. They got to see behind the scenes of several coasters and even ride up to the top of Griffon for photos and videos!
They were not allowed to film in the operator booths or insider of the Verbolten building but here are highlights of the over 4.5hr tour! A definite must do if you have $80 and a morning free at the park!

I am still surprised people don't have to be tethered on top of the lift hill. What if somebody tripped or fainted or had a medical condition? Are there places between the tracks where they could fall through? Just wondering. I know maintenance guys that climb coasters are always tethered.

I just watched a CP tour on the new dive coaster and guests were tethered. Still waiting from somebody from BG to tell me why that isn't the case in your park. I don't work for OSHA or anything, but just seems like common sense to me.

I understand that, but does that take into account medical conditions or somebody fainting or accidently tripping or getting dizzy from heights? If there is even a tiny chance someone could fall through a crack or over the rail tethers should be used. There is obviously a reason Cedar Point uses them. If it is 100% safe then forgive me, but this video had me wondering about that.

Are the tours completely scripted? Is everything the guide says exactly word for word as written in a script? Or is it more personal, and explained in the guide's own words? Also In the first building, you had to watch where you aimed your camera so the blue-prints don't get in the background (as of you can't do a 360 panoramic of the room)?

Spaceshotx7 every tour guide is personal. So yes they use their own words but, they do have to script some stuff. Ive been on many tours and id have to say busch gardens tour guide team members r some of the most friendly. Some tours at other parks r very by the book and script.

Guy seems super nervous.. doesn’t fully ever answer some questions with common sense and avoids others all together and quickly moves on to a new subject like he’s just robotically following a script.. I’d love to do this tour with an old head from Busch gardens or one of the actual maintenance crew members
