Fun fact, back in 2014 my friend got hit by a flying cheese sandwich on the big one coming down the first drop, came from the front row of the ride, someone was genuinely having their dinner on the ride

Trust me the big ones first drop is wild, I rode it once at 11pm, it was throwing it down with rain that felt like needles hitting your face and I swear, I'm not lying, a cheese sandwich from the front row of the ride came flying towards us and hit my friend in the face

Steeplechase looks abominable. Icon, on the other hand, looks great. Did you happen to notice that an instrumental version of "I've got a golden ticket" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was the music playing during your ride on Alice in Wonderland? I picked up on it right away, but then I thought I was hearing something else with a similar melody. But no, it was definitely "I've got a golden ticket", which I thought was interesting considering the ride is Alice in Wonderland and not a Willy Wonka themed ride.

If you get chance, whilst you are in the UK, it’s worth trying Fantasy Island in ingoldmelds. The park as a whole is lacking but the two rollercoaster are incredible, especially odyssey, very underrated.

Yep, plenty of rough riding to be had at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I was exactly the same on infusion, never again. I was there in June for the first time in years so hadn't realised they'd changed Valhalla. I preferred the original. And Alice in Wonderland is just fab. Thanks for the laughs on the Big One..and some of the others, so funny 😆

Fun Fact: The Big One drop used to be more intense back when it opened, in the 1994 off season they had to reprofile it for rider comfort!! Also there is only one of the standard layout SLC's in the UK, Infusion. The other two are Kumali, a rare 671m Shenlin layout from Vekoma of which only two were built and only one still operates, and the other being The Odyssey which is the only true custom layout SLC. It stands at 170ft and has one of the biggest loops in the world!!! We may not have much in terms of coasters but at least we have a rare collection of SLC's!!!🤣

Infusion is by far the worst SLC here too. It has 8 cars instead of the standard 10 so it's twice as fast and intense. Odyssey is rough but not bad. Kumali is the best SLC we have.

@@amoonchild3386 The original drop would of been great but the rest would of really lacked (even more that today), they also re-profiled the turn around to give it more speed. You can actually see the original path where the track used to follow if you go to the pleasure beach, just look up at the turn around and you'll see it doesn't match up. Theres an old video of Geoffrey Thompson floating about of him riding it before it opened, and it looked like it was gonna valley on the 2nd hill!!

Its rough at times for sure (its arrow so its expected) but its honestly really fun all the same, you get great views, theres great speed, the first drop is crazy, especially if you sit at the front because it looks like you are just dropping off the track into the ground as you cant see the track atall

It is rough, but I've got a soft spot for The Big Dipper. It's the first real (not kids) coaster my son could go on and got him in to them. And it's so old and creaky it adds something to the whole experience.

Good vid to watch. Just finished seeing your trip to Alton Towers. Need to go to that theme park, just that the queues are stupid long there. We used to call it 'Alton Towers queue for hours' but glad you guys enjoyed the rides there, most of them are amazing. Blackpool is OK, I guess. Hope you didn't go round back off the main front. It's a shit hole beyond the sea front, like Beirut out there. Not much money is pumped into the region, if any. The same could be said about the pleasure beach. For me, it needs to be brought into the 21st century. We have some modern rides there with Icon and Valhalla, but the overall park is so dated and feels like you are visiting an abandoned closed theme park. I've been here only a few times in recent years. Each time Valhalla was still closed and delayed for re-opening. Before then, it was quite some time ago when Valhalla was new to the park. I remember Valhalla to be the best water ride I've ever been on. It was so much fun. So I've yet to be back on it since it re-opened. I have heard unfortunately that it's not as good as it used to be. My 15 year old daughter has been on it and said it was OK. You just get soaking wet she said. So my first time back to Blackpool pleasure beach was a disappointment. Paying full entry fee only to learn once inside that 3 of the main attractions were not running. The Big One had a track replacement, and I was told part of the track was stuck in Europe trying to get to the UK. It was post covid, so if course they used that as an excuse for the delay for being fixed and ready. Valhalla was not complete and was delayed for another year. And the icon was just closed for reason unknown. I came back to pleasure beach again the same year knowingly that it was just Valhalla that was closed. Icon is a great ride, definitely my favourite coaster there and a coaster you'd expect to see at Alton Towers. Loved the take-off. I'm sure we had water and smoke that I didn't see you guys have unless I missed that. The Big One is great for the height and the view. It was a brilliant drop but very tame after that. It's about the drop, which is over so quickly because of the speed, thrilling, but the rest is just fun. Revolution I hated also. It was rough but even worse if you didn't get the front seat. Any other seat behind the front and you don't see anything around you. Didn't enjoy that ride and never went on it again. Have been on the Big Dipper many times as my daughter loves the ride. It is a fun ride, not amazing, just enough thrill for the children. Steeple chase isn't that rough. You must be very sensitive 😅 it's just a boring ride, but many do like it. Especially the kids. The worst ride I've ever been on was Grand National. I had heard since I went on it that the ride had some work done on it during the off-season to make improvements. So, for you guys, it may have been a better experience that made it more enjoyable. Before then, it was so rough that I felt like I was being punched constantly on every drop and turn. Very uncomfortable seating, it was like no rules bumper cars on a track. Not good at all. Always have a soft spot for Avalanche. It was my favourite ride as a child. It's just a fun ride because it's not attached to a track, so you go along with the motion relying on gravity to keep you on. It's not a thrill ride, just really enjoyable, especially when you can share it with your kids. Ghost train is so bad it's pathetic. You guys must have been on some really bad ghost train rides to enjoy this one. I've seen scarier episodes of Scooby-Doo. But i can give it some credit. It scares my daughter ,although she is scared of her own shadow. Nickelodeon section is really just for the little ones. If you were to remove the Big One, Icon and Valhalla. For me, the pleasure beach becomes a fair ground attraction rather than a theme park. And you have to loosely use the word 'Theme' there, as there isn't much of a theme going around the park. When I return, i will be there for the three mentioned above only.

I've not been to Blackpool pleasure beach for 15 years until yesterday. Enzo was awesome. It's a shame Infusion is a head banger. Otherwise, it would be really fun. I don't know why but wooden always feel more intense.

I grew up marathoning Thunderbolt Express, at Camden Park in West Virginia, formally known as Demon from Kings Island. I also have a picture I took of it the year the got it on my fridge. Along with a pic I took in 1992 of the 1st climb on the Beast. The Big One, a guilty pleasure at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. No pun intended😁we also have a haunted house at Camden Park that is a pretzel dark ride. One of only a few. Always heard it counted as a coaster cuz of its dip.

I got whiplash on the Big One once haha. So much pain. You have to be really careful about holding your head in place or youll get wrecked Still havent had chance to do valhalla since the refurb but it was always an insane ride that got you offensively wet.

The beauty of Valhalla is it's both one of the best water rides in the world but also one of the best dark rides. It's a shame they got rid of the Wild Mouse, that thing was incredible you would have loved it, half the time felt like you were about to fall off.

if you guys ever come back to uk you should hit up flamingo land for sik (colossus at thorpe clone only with lapbars and its waaaaaay smoother) and kumali vekoma slc and fantasy island for jubilee odyssey also slc, they are 2 of the very best vekoma slcs both with unique layouts and both are very smooth and i am not a fan of vekoma slcs haha! but these are definitely worth it!
