Flight of Fear refit just change the exterior a little bit and come up with a story that fits in with Jungle X. Like an alien ship crash in the jungle and local authorities/government have tried to keep it under wraps or something 🤷‍♂️

I went last Sunday, and I've gotta say you're right about Grizzly being incredible. I'm seriously debating on whether it's the number 3 in the park. Also, you forgot to mention that Racer 75 received some retracking as well. Just the valley before the turnaround got retracked, but it's a massive improvement from last year. Great video!

Taylor I'm so glad you made this video. I'm going to the park for my first time in a couple weeks. I love how in-depth you cover things. I know this is your home park. So I'm sure this is going to be the best guide for a first-timer. We are so excited to get there. We are also doing BGW, Six flags America, and Six flags Great Adventure. This is our second roller coaster trip ever. I think it'll be the best one though!

Funny you say that about the lift hill. For me when I went during spring break, the lift hill was at its original speed (we timed it because it felt faster than usual)

I dig the green track and brown supports on the coasters in that area, so I hope when they do repaint 305 that they incorporate that jungle green for the track and maybe update the trains or change the cars to like a jeep type feel if it’s doable

I have not been there since about '81. I'd love to go back and see it again now. Watching amusement park videos in recent months the memories have been coming back to me. I remember Rebel Yell and King Kobra and a spinning room ride in a mountain. (I know that's long gone now). There was a safari we went through at one point when I was only ... maybe six?! Then we moved to GA. Six Flags cannot hold a candle to VA parks for beauty, but we had fun there too in our teen years. Turns out I like all kinds of parks and all kinds of rides. But the beautiful parks! There's something special there! It would be great to go back and ride all their current stuff. I am curious though why they trended towards such generic naming. Take out an evocative name about striking fear in men's hearts in battle and go with... Racer 75...so sad. Billy Idol could gave helped. Lol. Maybe they figured any better name would end up with another eventual backlash of haters especially if they branched out to the other famed war cries that are so similar. But still... Wish they'd come up with something better at the time even seeing how hard that is in with a society that hates knowledge and passion.

Pretty sure the slow lift hill was just that day. I've been there a couple times so far this year, and the lift hill wasn't any slower than normal. There's certainly even more construction fencing up than a few weeks ago though, that's certainly a change

Normally the lift hill runs slower if it is raining or in an overcast day for project 305. Also you both missed the new flight of fear spiels for the station.

I was there on Sunday and both Grizzly and Project 305 were closed. I was so disappointed 😩 I did, however, get to enjoy three rides on Twisted Timbers, which never gets old. Great video!

I should add, park employees shared with me that Grizzly won't be reopening until Memorial Day weekend. If you're visiting KD before then, don't expect it to be back open.

When I went earlier in March I noticed 305's lift was slow and it was for the first several rides. Then later that day it was considerably faster and moving at its normal speed so I don't know what is up with it.

I’ve never been to Kings Dominion but it looks like a very photogenic park, judging by that montage. A bunch of the rides and park seems to be surrounded by forest. Grizzly be so great makes me wish Wilde Beast here north of the border got more love. But honestly, I think it so far gone it’s more worthy of an RMC conversion.

Be sure to save all of your receipts at the food vendors at Kings Dominion. We had our receipt last year when we got falsely accused of stealing water. They had security looking for us for what turned out to be an hour over two bottles of water they thought we took. The park manager still has not contacted us to talk about it.

As for Flight of Fear, have to wonder if KD will need to remove it for the CF/SF merger to get approved. (There might be language requiring differentiation of nearby parks that historically competed with each other). In that case, it'd be awesome if it could be relocated to Worlds of Fun. And I wouldn't be opposed to KD replacing it with a dark ride where guests tag jungle animals. It's the kind of thing that Busch would do but can't at BGW.

We were given special permission. I had to follow strict rules and guidelines in accordance with the Cedar Fair aerial requirements as well as FAA regulations. So glad you enjoyed them!

I have a theory on what KD could add possibly in the future. What if, as a replacement for Volcano, they put in a launched B&M Invert like the concept for Canada's Wonderland. It would make a fitting replacement, and its clear Cedar Fair/Six Flags is willing to add a coaster of that magnitude.

I think many are betting on wing coaster given the geography and local competition. They couldn't do a B&M Hyper for Kings Dominion's Intimidator because Apollo's Chariot was next door so they went to Intamin to do a Giga coaster for them instead. Likewise, Kings Dominion pulling a B&M Invert would be competing with Alpengeist so they want a coaster that's very unique to draw guests over to Kings Dominion. A wing coaster would be a good enough fit since the only wing coasters nearby are out west and it will be a reliable ride at least compared to its predecessor.
