I think putting the super boomerang behind cyborg was an amazing decision. They know that the ride isn't very popular, I think putting a signature roller coaster behind it will attract a lot more guests to that general area and boost the amount of riders on cyborg.

Super boomerang is a horrible ride for great adventure. Low capacity + its supposed to be a 50th year anniversary coaster. Its unbelievable to me that they constantly screw great adventure over with rides.

@@alecvip7562 I don’t think it is a horrible addition, the actual ride time is short, so that really isn’t the main problem, for me it all depends on the staffing. They did say this is a last minute addition so I think the fact that they even got a coaster is great. And the fact that six flags is now working with Vekoma is even better.

I don't think that Six Flags America is going to rename Mind Eraser to Suspended Coaster. That's probably just a placeholder until they can think of a better name.

The paragraph states all generic types of ride: "Three re-imagined attractions - Suspended coaster (formerly Mind Eraser) with new trains, enhanced operating system and a completely refreshed look; River rapids ride (formerly Renegade Rapids) with new theming, features and surprises; And, an overhaul of bumper cars (formerly Coyote Creek Crazy Cars)".... Coaster Studios must be tired.

Great Escape is such a charming place, and as my home park, I am thrilled to see a new coaster put in! Alpine Bobsled was almost never open so a more reliable ride will do the park some good.

How Six Flags parks feel about the 2024 Season abridged: Six Flags Over Georgia: WE GOT AN INTAMIN?? Sure it’s definitely not their greatest creation by any means but it looks like it will be a pretty good coaster at the very least. It was about time! Six Flags Fiesta Texas: Over 50 hints for a flat ride package? I mean I like it but I was expecting a coaster. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Six Flags St. Louis: Oh wow another year of being coaster less and no rookie racer doesn’t count. Our last major coaster was a damn boomerang in 2013. A giga discovery is a good ride but this coaster drought is ridiculous. The six flags company Needs to stop spoiling their 3 major parks. St. Louis is a really good market too. Pathetic. Also rmc boss was never happening this year. Six Flags Great Adventure: Anniversary’s are mostly known for improving the overall park experience instead of coasters but people are complaining that it wasn’t a giga? This is going to be a pretty good ride for the park! Reminds me so much of chiller. They’re also doing a lot of improvements around the park as well! Six Flags America: I will take a new themed land and a pretty decent flat ride. Hopefully it makes the park look nicer. But the real question is where is RMC ROAR? When was the last time we actually got a coaster? I feel like I will never see a coaster again. Now I’m sad. Six Flags Darien Lake: Great Job six flags!!You’re doing too much for this park!! You might even have to slow down!!! Sarcasm aside what a disaster. We haven’t gotten squat. There’s so much potential but we will never see it. Frontier City: Same thing different year. We just had to get acquired by six flags. Six Flags New England: I’ve been asking for a coaster for almost a decade now. It’s just so frustrating. After wicked cyclone I had hope. Then it all crumbled right in front of me. I’m tired of being little brother of the six flags chain. Six Flags Great America: good ride to replace this with revolution. However We’re suppose to be one of the flagship parks but our last major coaster was maxx force? I’m getting a bit worried… Six Flags Mexico: They always forget about us down here. La Ronde: can we please get stuff so we can pretend to compete with Canada’s wonderland? Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: remember Those few years where the park actually got some investment? Good times Six Flags Over Texas: The original six flags park right in Arlington yet we continue to get the scraps of the six flags chain. Really a log flume right after we just got Aqua man? Another failure of a year. Great Escape: Wait a minute. We actually got something? Are they talking about the right great escape? Wow. A gravity group woodie? If I had a nickel for every time Six Flags America was to close a rough steel coaster made in the 90s, only to give it new trains, paint, and a new name, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice. Seriously though, we ALL thought Mind Eraser was going to be bulldozed this year.

I love the layouts of SLCs, it would be cool to see vekoma do an updated version with the new track and trains someday. I also prefer most current SLCs in the back also, because being yanked through the elements doesn't seem as unpleasant as the shuffling you get in the front. Same with firebird, i find the ride experience better the further back. It's the opposite of the general consensus that the front of a coaster is the smoothest, but its because its only for certain coasters.

Comet is like a "my first thrill coaster", which is really good for Great Escape. I don't think it matters if Bobcat and comet are both wood. Any family coaster they would have would be a similar experience.

I’m not sure if Mind Eraser will be called ‘Suspended coaster’. I believe the park details gave the model of rides in Steamtown, and the plan is to release the new names later. The email I got about it says ‘Three classic rides - suspended coaster (Formally Mind Eraser), bumper cars (Formally Coyote creek crazy cars) and river rapids ride (formally renegade rapids) will be renamed, reimagined, and rethemeded and enhanced to coincide with the new park area and make their grand debut next year’

Not all markings are for construction or any changes. Sometimes they are just points to set up on and map the area. Points are set up in multiple areas to get a better view of the area you are mapping out.

The Giga Discovery is actually a better fit at SFGAm than most would think. Revolution’s ride experience is more comparable to Zamperla’s Disco than their Discovery; it doesn’t go very high off the ground and the thrill is found in its fast and forceful spinning. Great America already features plenty of coasters and family rides, so I think that Sky Striker will help balance the park’s lineup with a new, thrilling flat ride. That being said, the ride will likely replace the skycoaster’s plot of land so I have no clue why they’re putting a giant pendulum right next to their smaller pendulum. Hopefully it won’t hurt Revolution’s ridership, cause that ride is incredibly underrated!

Great escape is my home park, and to your comment about the new addition being another wooden coaster, there is not another six flags park I would trust more to maintain a wooden coaster and do it well. Just look at the comet, the park puts more love and care into that thing than any other ride. I wholeheartedly agree that they could have benefited from a steel coaster (a family launch would have been nice) but this addition will be a fantastic fit for the park! Hope you can experience it next year!

Coming from a former land surveyor, the points with a triangle around them is where we would measure from, Best known the guy with the camera. Once all the mapping is complete, we can go back to that spot, undisturbed by earthwork to layout the future structure. Love the channel

Over Georgia’s ultra surf is the park edition for the park to get. It fills in the gap of their missing launch coaster with that ride

I do find it interesting that the six flags over Georgia website has the new ultra splash listed in the screampunk section of the park, seeing that the old splashwater falls plot is wedged between the carousel hill, Metropolis, and DC super friends areas, and no retheme was announced 🤔 Does this mean Pandemonium or the go-Karts is leaving in 2024?

Update: that space by Wonder Woman where tidal wave was at magic mountain is just seating with some umbrellas. Some shade would have been nice like the area that green lantern replaced.

Even though we pretty much knew it was the Super Boomerang coming to Great Adventure, I really wish it was a custom coaster (though I know the SB is a North America first) that would really force the masses to come and use the new resort plus the areas they are trying to build to make it more like a Cedar Point type of destination. Excited for the new coaster but that low capacity is going to be a killer!!

Over Texas EL ASSERADERO has 2 flumes, they're just merging both flumes and combine them into a single one. Which is a good thing because they've been using only one side since a few years ago.

6:55 Phantasialand did the opposite with their old flume (pre-Chiapas). they cut up the layout into 2 rides (stonewash creek & wildwash creek), since it had really long wait times, even as the years went by, to better the capacity.

SFOT has log Flume 1 and Flume 2. Flume 1 is not ADA accessible, is in poor shape, and was hardly ever in operation. Several months ago, we had a flood that tore up part of the flume, so it's just been sitting there as an eyesore. If Six Flags is actually going to fix the flumes up when they are tied together, then this is a really good move. From an operational standpoint, you can double capacity without doubling staffing. Also, before we get anything new, we need to clean up and invest in what we have. The park has really been cleaned up in the past couple years, so this is the next welcome addition. My biggest wish with this is that riders continue to NOT get soaked like you see on other log flumes.

A few(maybe all. IDK) Six Flags had 2 Log Flume rides back in the 80's and 90's. Over Georgia got rid of their second flume 25 years ago or so. It's interesting they're going to combine the two for one big ride.

El Rio Lento is Flume 1 being renovated. They will be adding a new lift and steeper drop, so I don't believe they are combining the flumes. I could definitely be wrong though..

What all is there? I can only think of Dragster, Iron Menace, super boomerang, project penguin at SWO, and a few other smaller family coasters. Seems very light on coasters to me. I keep hearing people say it will be a big year for coasters so I wonder if I’m overlooking something. Unless people are considering additions worldwide.

I feel like the name for the rethemed mind-eraser doesn’t have a name, because it’s not fully in title case all other rides have a capitalized letter in the first letter of each word (i.e. Mind Eraser compared to Suspend coaster), so I wonder if it’s like Six Flags over Georgia where they haven’t picked a name yet.

Growing up visiting Great Escape throughout the summer, I'm so surprised they are finally getting a new coaster! It's a shame Appine Bobsled is closing, but it had too many problems.... I wonder if they are scrapping it? You right tho that the new coaster should have been a steel/but more thrilling, but Bobcat does look good for a family coaster.

Honestly that would ruin the Boss, it's woodeness blends well with its surrounding and it just wouldn't be right. I always see the screaming eagle and Boss as the wooden coasters in the back asserting domince on the state park behind the park, that would be lost if Boss was steel.

they should make a dive coaster, Arthur Curry with the coaster track going over the water and splash you maybe and a roller coaster like rolling thunder but it is a triple dueling coaster commander steal with inverts air time hills and more if six flags great adventure can do this I will be very happy and by the way great video and Arthur Curry is the dc version of aquaman, and commander steal is the dc version of captain America

Excited for the Great Escape addition since it's my home park. It's important to mention the reason they won't try a big coaster at Great Escape is because the town board and residents will not allow it to happen. They had to fight and (I believe) change the location for Adirondack Outlaw when they put that up a few years ago.

Also, they don't want to spend a lot of money on a big coaster when there are not a lot of people in their closest metropolitan area, Albany, compared to other Six Flags parks. Airtime Thrills said Great Escape's population center was 14th out of 15th in his video titled "How Six Flags Chooses its Winners & Losers". So, putting a big coaster elsewhere could result in a better Return on Investment.

I honestly think this double down before the final turn on Bobcat would be superior to the final bunny hills on Timber. In fact, those have a trim that basically killed the second hill. I do hope that they won't trim the double down too. Furthermore, I love these Gravity Group junior woodies, so I'm excited to see SF adding one. In fact, any of their parks could benefit from these perfect family coasters.

I thought that they were just calling Mind Eraser the type of ride it is as a placeholder. Otherwise the names would be suspended coaster, river rapids ride, and bumper cars, which I highly doubt they would do. They'll probably announce the actual new names at a later date.

SFDK (Vallejo) has a height restriction of 150 ft. I'm thinking maybe that will change, and now they will be able to build taller rides in 2024? It's my home park btw so I hope that's the case. 🤞🏻

Great escape should add a Hypercoaster. Something like Steel Force at Dorney Park...or a B&M....or even a Giga Coaster like Millennium Force at Cedar Point.

They should replace the Mind Eraser at SFA with a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster. I’ve heard those rides are insane. SFDK, I think it would be some record breaking flat ride, but what type I don’t know. The Bobcat, this could be the perfect family woodie. I can imagine someone’s son or daughter saying “That was fun” to their parents, and their parents saying “Wait till your big enough to ride the Comet”.

New england has mega space is they developed the hill down to the picnic area. They can legit fit a giga. But id like to see them dump boomerang and put a smile clone where boom sits and old Goliath. They can even move bomb over to the kids area

The fact that they're naming the frisbee in St. Louis Joker might also mean it goes where the current Joker Inc pirate ship is? Walking past it this year I also assumed that we'd get a frisbee and that it'd go in the Xcalibur plot. I guess it could just go there and they close Joker Inc as it is a 43 year old ride and I definitely saw cardboard boxes of parts under it last time I rode it, but it sucks to have to lose a flat ride to gain one when we already have so few that are ever open (seriously, Six Flags St. Louis has more coasters than it does non-kiddie flat rides).

What's really weird about Six Flags St. Louis and this announcement is that they still haven't opened their 2023 family coaster Rookie Racer. It's largely been built, and they've teased we would learn more soon, but nothing. So I suspect they'll also open that in 2024 since it seems unlikely it will happen this year.

I don't think they are trying to say suspended coaster is the new name. All three attractions that are being "re-imagined" are very plainly described in the post. The other two are listed as river rapids ride and bumper cars. I think they're just not revealing the names right now (maybe because they haven't come up with them yet).

I kinda wish Bobcat were a RMC family I-Box, just because it's weird for them to add another woodie so close to Comet. But it's a perfect layout for the park, and if Gravity Group was the cheaper option, then theoretically Steamin' Demon can be replaced with a Vekoma Space Warp sooner. So it's still a win.

No it’s better they’re working with gravity group because if their precut is successful, I’d imagine they’d add them to more parks that need standout woodies/refurbs (fiesta and over Texas need good woodies)

i don't think the xcalibur plot is big enough i feel it will go in the joker inc plot replacing joker inc. that ride is always down for extended periods of time due to parts the arcade next to it is already themed and would make a good location for the fun house que

I visited the great escape for my first time on Monday and Tuesday lucked out and got several rides on bobsled as well bobcat is confirmed to take the place of both the bobsled and the go kart track and I was watching construction crews actually making the holes in the ground for footers for the ride in the grassy areas of the go kart track with markers and workers all around the bobsled area Glad to see this park getting some much needed and deserved coaster however I’m sad it’s coming at the cost of the best coaster there because Comet was one of the most overhyped coasters I’ve ever ridden

Hey Taylor, have you had a chance to ride Swamp Fox in Myrtle Beach yet? I finally bit the bullet and went there for the last couple days and it was actually quite amazing. I really don't understand why people don't talk about Swamp Fox being another Phoenix. It's got buzzbars with multiple STRONG ejector moments as well as an insane lateral part. It also has maybe the most intense flat ride I have ever seen in my life. It's called F5 the amount of g force that thing subjects you to is hilarious. The people around us were quite obviously overwhelmed by the ride and one rider, as I said "Wow that was a crazy flat ride" started vomiting all over the place. That thing is the Skyrush of flat rides. Their "Twist N Shout" wild mouse is also the most forceful Wild Mouse I have ever been on. Every turn on that ride got more and more forceful, lol. The best Wild Mouse I have ever been on by a wide margin.

The SteamTown announcement is not giving the existing rides those generic names. If those were the names, they would be capitalized like every other ride name on that page. The problem is they didn't use "the" before each, but the announcement clearly says they will be "sharing more details". When something gets done getting rethemed, they'll probably announce the new name with the new look. Months of PR!

To be fair, Six Flags Great Escape does already have another steel coaster, Canyon Blaster, a decent Arrow Dynamics mine train. It may not be the most exciting ride on the planet, but it's way less painful than either Flashback or Steamin' Demon, which is somehow far worse than its clone at Wild Waves, Wild Thing. They're definitely leaning into the family side of things and a bit away from the standard Six Flags THRILL side. Probably the right choice for that park. Next time you're there, be sure and stop across the street at Martha's Dandee Creme for an ice cream cone. Those things are the size of your arm and so tasty!

Obviously I'd like it if they put something good in the Goliath spot at Six Flags New England, but Six Flags America and Great Escape were *way* overdue for something, to a degree that New England isn't.
