Is Europa Park the worlds best theme park? It's been voted #1 for that title many years in a row, and we can see why! This was a pinnacle stop for us on our Europe trip, as they combine some of the best theming, rides, stories, food, and live entertainment all into one! For that reason, we specifically planned two days to be here! After they close, we also venture out to Basel, Switzerland to spend a little time in another country!

I can relate to your feelings about Europa Park. When I was in the Army, I was stationed in Germany twice and I treated EP like my home park. I made sure to visit at least once a year (a couple times I made it twice a year) and loved it every single time.

Aaaah! The Madame Freudenreich ride used to be "Universe of Energy" and it was just the dino part of the EPCOT ride. I am obsessed with it. They redressed the dinos to make it funny. I think there are POV videos of the original but they're very dark

the one thing phantasialand lacks behind compared to europapark for me is the shows. I know it's not something you guys focus on at all, but europapark is really great in this regard. The amount and quality is beyond any other park I have been to. Also really looking forward to voltron!

Yes, also opening times. Phantasialand closes rides before park close. But they are very close :)

@@sebastianhillbrecht In Merlin parks for example, the queues close at the time the park closes. So if the queue is 30 minutes long and the park shuts at 7, you can have your final ride at 7:30

I love Europa. It is such a fun park. You need to visit at Halloween. That was one of the best visit we have ever done there. They change some of the rides, there are pumpkins everywhere.

Thank you for this burst of nostalgia! I did two tours of duty in Germany during my time in the Army and Europa Park was my adopted home park. I’m going to visit friends next summer and they KNOW this park is on my to-do list. I can’t wait to see what they’ve added since my last visit, about five years’ ago. I got a big laugh when you all talked about missing the station fly-thru on Wodan. First time I rode it, I missed it, so I made my friends get back in line to pay more attention. Great times!

Love Europa Park! Phantasialand is also brilliant, though I find it pretty hard to compare the two. If I'm really seeking the thrill rides, then Phantasialand is the place. But if I'm going with family (including pre-teens) then I have to say Europa Park is the superior destination. There's just not enough to do at Phantasialand for the little ones, a super high-quality as everything is. I mean, even their log flume, which I agree is one of the best in the world, isn't possible for most 4-7 year olds. Neither is their river rapid ride, if memory serves. Whereas, at EP, the kids can do not one, but two, different flumes, including Atlantica Supersplash, and the raft ride, too. So it all depends on what you're looking for.

Great job and I love that you included the queue lines + themed areas which made this park and Phantasialand so special to me. We had a great time getting food at loopin too! We went in September which had shorter days so it was hard to get all the rides in.

Europa park is all about immersion really. I think even slightly more immersive than phantasialand imo. But I like both parks almost equally. I just like Europa a bit more because I love those themed areas so much as they are themed to various different countries. Even the food is dependant on the area you are in. Also I feel like it’s a bit more alive than Phantasialand is with all the actors that wander around the park. I love the dark rides in this park as well. Something that Phantasia lacks actually. But they are both parks that you should absolutely visit should you get the chance!

I drove over that bridge going into Basel a few months ago! It's an awesome city. I'm always bummed because whenever I'm in that part of Germany I drive past Europa park and I can see it from the highway.

Great park. I went there in the end of June this year and the lines were really short, but it was also a Tuesday to Thursday. Will definitely be back next year!

Such a good park. I think I agree Phantasialand is better, but that's mainly because of that next level theming and the world class coasters. Europa Park doesn't have that standout coaster lineup, but they're still good enough. What surprised me was how smooth Wodan and Blue Fire were running. Great ops too. We made use of the free quick queue system and that helped our day out by quite a bit. Only had time for one day there and it was rather busy, but managed to do everything we wanted (got all credits and some dark rides) as well as multiple rerides on the main coasters. Was a great day! Also, that closing time of after 6 kept us guessing all day until closer to the end where they put up signs of closing at 7:30pm.

You don't have to guess when the park close, if it is not closing at 6pm they will post it on several places like showtime tables and in the stations of almost every rollercoaster.

Even though Port Aventura has better thrill rides, I believe Europa Park is the superior like big resort park in Europe. I've never felt a such quality in a theme park, even at Disney Paris ! The lineup is perfectly balanced, food is gorgeous, operations are fast, and Port Aventura quite doesn't meet this standard. For instance, Silver star has a front row line and a free access station, while you almost need to pay a premium pass to get a front row on Shamballa ! One the one hand, Europa has a more expensive ticket but it feels like a full package. On the other hand, Aventura is cheaper at first glance, but that price rises quickly as they're trying to make you pay any extra service.

It's a disgrace what they did to the Eurosat! It used to be spacethemed just like Euromir. The track isn't all that, and what really added its magic was the fact that it was a truly dark light with very few light flashes here and there, not knowing where you were going. Now it's just a kiddie ride in my opinion. The light show doesn't justify the 45 minute queue through the unbearable can can music. Very annoying. Also I find it funny that you stayed in Switzerland even though you're doing two days at the park. I live in Switzerland, and even though it's not that long of a ride, if we're doing two days then I always stay the night at a hotel. They grant you early access which is cool.

For all the people that want visit the park. The best way to start is doing Schweizer Bobbahn and Matterhorn-Blitz. Two coasters with low capacity where the waiting time can raise up pretty fast.

Tell me which other big amusement parks (obviously apart the Disney and Universal parks that you need spend minimum the triple ) with these dimensions that with only 55 € /$ you have a theming and attractions like Disney etc .. : only Phantasialand ( that In my personal opinion is a little better becuause of the hard work of engineering ) and Efteling. As you wrote, Europa Park thanks to the Mack family, has been struggling with "aliens" for years (yes, because Disney and Universal are still doing another sport since they can easily spend half a billion dollars for a single attraction, or if you consider an area, even over 2 billion. Ok, Europa park has no unique attractions in the world but while and obviously like Movieland Italy it has (even if Movieland is a family's owner that you never visited yet this hidden tiny Italian gem park), apart from the B&M hyper obviously because years ago, they had produced yet, they can build /test their rides all of them on site. ( like for the Extreme Spinning, they previously test a prototype spinning seats on Blue fire ). Unfortunately, a lot of European guests, don't respect the rule to no smoking during the queue line, even if you put up signs, there will always be someone who doesn't respect it and while it's obvious that is permitting to smoke in all other the place. Apart from this, again, Europa Park is what Gardaland park could become, given that they both born the same year and have some attractions in common (the monorail, the log flume), has everything and it's excellent..... they have an huge selection of food, awesome and a lot of rides in Disney style ... spectacular roller coasters ( If I continue to write this hidden gem park I will stay overnight ), great shows and events. Anyway, Euromir is the first Mack spinning coaster so, obviously is very rough ( especially the last part with helix and the strong brake run if you are in backwards ), but with the legendary soundtrack that will remain stuck in your head, you need to re ride it over and over again. Europa park have also toilets, and shops during the queue lines that is rare ( I nice touch ). And for me is obvious that you consider ( as a USA people ) Blue Fire as a family coaster, that in reality most of European users still consider as a thrill ride, because is not for all. Unfortunately still in many parks, they keep height and age limits quite high than USA parks for safety reasons, so, many parks choose to put attractions that are more family-friendly than teenagers, adults. If you ride Taylor the old Piraten of Batavia, during your previous visit, you probably have been impressed the same for the quality of this great boat ride Apart of all, did you ride the Eurosat Coastiality ( Valerian ) Vr which entrance is near Silver star? Many youtubers I have seen, they have skipped or not even talked about in their vlogs. I hope you'll continue to do this type of format on this channel ( vlogs ) and to return next year here in Europe to ride new rides and new parks that you never visited ( or for many years that you have not visited ).

I think most Americans would not consider Blue Fire a family coaster either. To my mind, nothing with 4 inversions is really in that category--inversions of any kind are a deal-breaker for so many people. It's more the sign of a coaster enthusiast.

I was loving the video (like all of this series) and then pretty much screamed when it ended in Basel (my home for 8 years). So glad you enjoyed that underrepresented and beautiful city. Cigarette smoking really got de-normalized in the US since the 1990s or so--in public places, it became common for it to be entirely banned indoors, and to be limited to designated smoking areas even outdoors. When I was a kid smoking was as ubiquitous here as in Europe, but not any more.
