10:45 the pipes are bypass freshwater while they are building a new subway underneath. 11:40 that’s the Vienna City Hall, finished 1883, in the park are several festival’s during the year (like in Epcot 😜). Vienna is definitely worth a visit, but I left for the US 10 years ago - living in Vienna is a different experience then visiting 🫣

Also sometimes these pipes are used to pump ground water from construction sites to a natural body of water because the regular canals can't handle the extra water.

11:30 I love that Taylor is talking about the buffet and the science fair and he just gradually builds up a laughter. It really sounds like he is about to crack up! Also, will there be a ranking video on April 1st for the McDonalds of Europe and which country has the best? That'd be funny!

12:20 the random street you mentioned is the "Ring Straße" or"Ring Street". It was build arround 1870 after they tore down the citywall. Pretty much any building you find there is a prestige building like the theater you saw but also the parlament, the old habsburg residence, museums and the opera house.

Really neat stuff. Also in regards to Sarah's comment about it being livable she's damn right! Heck even in regards to finding a place to live, Vienna has some of the cheapest housing of any major city in the world, because the vast majority of it is public housing. Heck public housing is so ubiquitous in Vienna that it's even making private developers lower their prices to compete. On top of that, their public network is really solid nationwide, you can actually get a year long pass for all public transit in Austria for just 1100 euros called the Climate ticket that's valid on everything from the local bus to even the Railjet high speed trains.

I haven't been to the Prater for over a decade and there definitely weren't that many rides. We didn't go in summer so maybe they bring in the randos to fill up the ride count during summer. So happy you got to visit Vienna for a bit (but not long enough!) I didn't read all the messages but those pipes are popular throughout eastern Germany and Austria. It's mostly swampy in the area so whenever they build something they have to pump out the groundwater. Follow those pipes and you'll usually find the nearest river.

Vienna might be my favorite city in Europe, it has such good vibes. The museum of art history there is amazing. Sarah's take on Times Square being on the least sketchy places in NYC is... interesting. Parts of the outer boroughs can get kinda dicey but Times Square and the Port Authority area are probably my least favorite part of Manhattan south of 130th Street.

Glad to hear your opinion on Wiener Prater, that Mack Big Dipper will really help the ride lineup bolster it, I could also see a RMC Raptor fit well hear to since it would make it have a really well rounded lineup

This takes me back. Did a photography project at Prater once, focusing on the old rides. I got to walk on Hochschaubahn while it was operating. The chef just checked if the cars can pass my tripod and then it was like "yeah just watch out when you hear the lifthill chain start, and you'll be fine". They sure have their own safety standards over there. Nothing happened to me btw cause I was careful enough but uh don't do what I did lol? If you do get back to Vienna and you have the time, go check Hundertwasser Village. Not really a village but also not too far from Prater, and it's a nice looking building, plus you can get some good "Sachertorte" in a cafe there, and trying that cake is a must in Vienna.

The poster at Olympia Looping says: It's 900 metric tons heavy, takes up 86.5 by 38.5 meters of ground space, measures 32.5 meters at the highest point of the layout (I assume scenery goes higher), has a length of 1250m/1.25km, goes 100kph/62mph, pulls up to 5.2g, is safety-controlled via a block-section system, is constructed with a 300-ton mobile crane (which is...huge), and is certified for operation by "TÜV Süd".

You have to remember that side friction coasters aren't attached to the track, so they cant go fast or steep or have airtime as it would fly off the track and if RCT is anything to go by they are filled with TNT that will detonate on impact

Im glad you enjoyed my hometown! I really wanted to meet you at prater, but i was on vacation the time you went :( Prater is a cool but weird place. You need to come back some time to check out the new mack big dipper that will open next year. :) Have you ridden black mamba & extasy? Those rides are one of the best at prater. Also, have you ridden olympia looping in the front row? Because i think it's way better than the back, it's smoother and feels more intense. I also love the fact that you said the people are friendly here, because everyone here thinks the opposite. Vienna was actually voted the most unfriendly city in the world😂 Keep up the great work!

I was lucky enough to spend 10 years working in Vienna, and it's a fantastic city. So much to do, so much night life. The way to look at Prater is that Vienna is the destination and Prater is one of the attractions unlike other places on the trip where the park IS the destination. BTW I love the 70 year old woodie for its historic value, yes it's tame but so what.

So basically Wiener Prater is like a mall but instead of stores and restaurants operating by different companies, it’s rollercoasters, dark rides, and flat rides operated by different companies.

It's quite far out of the way in the middle of nowhere but Wildtrain is quite crazy. I managed to do both Wiener Prater and Fantasiana on my trip however Fantasiana was part of a road trip and not linked to my Vienna stop over. You'd have to be really keen to make it work from Vienna.
