As others have said, Hex is in a towers facade attached to the actual towers, and “grounds” refers to the gardens and areas around the towers etc., not the towers themself.

We visited the Sea Life Aquarium in London and initially thought it looked like an underwhelming tourist trap, but then it just kept going and going and going, and we were pretty satisfied with the experience in the end. They've got this long labyrinth of aquarium hidden down there.

Someone in my family won it after the golf ball bounced off the head of a duck in the lake and landed in the hole! Alton didn't wanna give away the car but there were technically no rules saying that it COULDN'T bounce off a duck so they had to give it away anyway! (I totally get how unrealistic this story sounds, it's the kind of story you need proof to be believed, but it's still something my family and I smile about whenever we walk past that golfing sign)

You should try to make it out for Halloween if you ever come around again. I went last year and they had a maze in the castle ground which was phenomenal. There was also a bodysnatcher one that was pure hillbilly gone horror. Alton Towers is amazing. Wickerman may be the most complete coaster experience out there.

The queue for Galactica is always horrible for such an underwhelming ride. Especially when nemesis is usually open right next to it which is far superior with better queues

Former USN Honor Guard here; there was nothing wrong with the way the national ensign was displayed. There is no "backwards" when being displayed in the open air on a held standard. Also, most people display hung flags wrong, and no, my flag patch on my right arm was not backwards. The blue field, called the union, always points to the normal (forward) direction when used as identification on literally anything that moves, or to the upper left from the viewpoint of the observer whether hung vertically or horizontally on a wall. This particular display was acceptable, as the photo was in a foreign country, both flags were displayed with equal prominence, and both flags were displayed on handheld standards (that is, flagpoles) in an open setting.

Yea dissapointing service especially this year. After a few trips to mainland Europe I've become pretty critical of the Merlin parks for their operations, maintainance, theming and overall care. Ride line-up not so much as there's some great rides here and lots of childhood memories 😀. I also can't bare the temporary rides at AT.
