I never tire of seeing views of that coastline. Rugged, ancient and always changing. Bike sounds great as usual. 😎 🥃

What a beautiful place to ride a motorcycle. I would certainly have stopped at one of those seats at the end of Haugh Rd, by the golf camp, just to enjoy that view. Thanks for sharing Bruce. Amazing!!!

Hi Bruce Enjoyed watching your video. Just thought I would try to answer some of your questions. As you may know I’ve recently moved from the old Drift cameras, to DJI Action 5 Pro’s. I’m also now using the new Mic Mini. The cameras are absolutely fantastic, I simply love them. So easy to use and so far 100% reliable with stunning results. As to the Mic Mini, wow what a game changer. As it’s so tiny it just pops onto the included magnet that I’ve fitted inside my helmet. This results in a completely waterproof setup. The Mic Mini’s battery lasts up to 11 hours, this means I can switch it on at the start of the day and forget about it. I use the top button on the camera to instantly turn on the camera and off when wishing to record, this definitely saves battery life. I’ve used mine a lot recently for full days riding and only changed the camera batteries at lunch time. This was just a precaution but I recon the battery would have lasted the full day. As to the Mic Mini it instantly connects automatically to the camera whenever it’s switched on or off. I also film in 1080p, for the same reason as you. 4K film sizes are just way too big, especially if you’re using multiple cameras. I’ve a new series starting 7th January all filmed with the new gear, all at 1080p 25fps, I think you’ll be impressed by the quality. Hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Hopefully we can catch up next year sometime 👍

Hi Bruce. A nice little run out to North Berwick. I have to agree with you regarding riding and talking. We need all the skill and whereabouts as to what is occurring on the road at a given time. I even don't like having a conversation on the hands free in the car. With regards to the police, whilst doing high speed advanced driving they use the technique called running commentary. It's a way of seeing and gathering all the information on the road and then making up that dynamic risk assessment. And you are probably wondering how do I know this. My confession, I was a traffic policeman with Northumbria Police, retired now 11 years. Hope you still chat to me 😂 Regards and all the best for Christmas. Carl.🍻

Hi Carl, My friend did the advanced Motorcycle test and he said it follows same as Police method, as did partner G being a Paramedic, definitely different to day dreaming for ideas to waffle about or ranting etc while riding 😜 not that i really rant much 🤣😁

The voice over is just fine :) In many ways I prefer it, other folk seem to ramble on cos they are afraid of silences on their vids :)

If chatting live i would forget to mention stuff, you see loads of folk adding subtitles in editing of what they had forgotten 😜👍

The voice over's are fine, a little more contemplative and considered than live response on the bike, imo. Jonathan at the Panther Owner's Club KZbin channel is great at VOs, you come away thinking you've listened to a good audio book, almost poetic.

I quite agree about talking and riding, if you were chugging across a desert or on an empty dual carriageway it would be fine, but not your ride outs, all I see is hazards, the round abouts, pot holes and 4X4s, looked a cold ride out but nice and bright. In the middle of a house move and looking forward to getting the Bullet back out and about. Thanks for the good fun videos this year, have a good Christmas, regards, Tim.

Afternoon Bruce, nice little run out , I'm off out doing the rounds to all my relatives with cards and presents on my Classic, the fuel consumption on the Enfield makes it way cheaper than a book of postage stamps ! 😅😅 Cheers, Mel

Glad I gave you something to talk about 😂. When you're using coms on the advance, You're talking about what you can see on the road, highlighting danger etc, Which actually focuses your riding. Not waffling about something else and distracting your brain, so you're quite right about Moto blocking

The ride into North Berwick transported me back to 79-80 on L plates with 250cc's etc, we'd be learning our trade with no fear or cares in the world, on the corner just before the harbour was a wee cafe we'd park and get a juice, Saturday Nights at the North Berwick Piv disco, Quarter Deck for a pint... Aww Great Days and memories

Great views Bruce, is that near the beach with the little bridge on you take the dog to? The voiceovers have always been your thing Bruce and I really like it, not that there's anything wrong with the live ones! You can be more considered in your comments and commentary and I like it when you say there's something coming up 🤪 I never thought there was a worthwhile difference going to 4K on my Gopro 10 until I saw Beenas fantastic looking videos (Osmo 4) which are awesome in 4K, I've got an Osmo now and sold my 10. The 10 still sells for 200 quid or so on ebay and Argos are doing the Osmo 4 for that at the moment! The battery life is amazing compared to the gopro, and unlike the 10 it will run off the USB cable too and record. I don't think it would make a huge difference on your muggy commutes but your summer trips would be amazing in 4k off the Osmo. I'm just being selfish of course as I want to see your landscape even better so don't listen to me 🤪 There's the huge benefit of the tiny wireless mic to go with it as you say. Merry Christmas, Glyn
@Coastriderscotland14 күн бұрын
Hi Glyn, the beach with the bridge is Belhaven beach here at Dunbar where we live, and the beach i look over at the end of film is North Berwick 8 miles up the coast, I will prob keep the older Go Pro for Jeep stuff and sell the newer one once i buy another camera, a mini mic would be good for the Jeep with the noise, and in the garage, voice over for bike films i am happy to keep doing 😁👍

If it’s not broken don’t fix it . Voice over is better. Are your gloves doing the job? I bought winter riding gloves , my hands were frozen after 20 minutes . Windchill at 40 mph was 13 Fahrenheit. Another great video. Thanks

1080 videos always look ok to me. Added voiceover has got to be a more sensible option, some of the channels with ‘live’ voice seem to have a somewhat distracted riding style

Completely agree about focusing on your riding rather than commentary. With regard to your DJI upgrade, I use an Action 3 - brilliant camera and it does 1080p no problem but easily handles 4K if you want to use it. Given that it's a little older now, why not look for a cheap refurbished version of the Action 3?

Morning. Not sure if you have ever had this matter sorted, re your eml. My 21 meteor had a similar issue. It was one of the temperature sensors set up for Indian and not UK temps. My dealer plugged in and changed the parameters for me free of charge. Have a great Christmas.

Hi Tom,probably that is what needs done to stop the odd orange management light issue, sadly Edinburgh does not have a dealer since Saltire closed but friend John bought a diagnostic for his Hunter so i can always get him on the job 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
