nope, the original is completely incompatible with famitracker/famicom/NES. Completely different sound chips.

***** Technically speaking you'd need the Famicom Disk System to play this one, since it uses the VRC6 chip not found in the NES. At least I'm pretty sure of that. There's always the possibility that I'm wrong.
@Danfun36010 жыл бұрын
***** You are. No offense. You either need a famicom or a modified NES (front loading. Top loading has expansion chip removed entirely) and a cartridge with a vrc6 chip. The famicom disk system has its own chip which is incompatible with the vrc6.
@TheLoveMario8 жыл бұрын
+DJReiko You're wrong. The Famicom disk System had a completely different chip: the FDS chip. It had a single wavetable channel: AKA it allowed you to modify the waveform. The waveform could be reprogrammed at any time, even while the song is playing. Namco made a better version of the chip called the N163, which had a whopping 8 channels. But it had plenty of downsides: 1. The last 2 channels overshadow the 2A03 pulse channels 2. If you used more than 1 channel, then the waveforms would sound like farts! 3. The waveforms were a lot less reprogrammable. You only had 32 "pixels" to work with, so you could only program simple waves like sawtooth, etc. It had the upside of making them alot easier to reprogram (with the FDS you need surgical precision to get the waves right!), but it was also MUCH less versatile.
@drcidd81535 жыл бұрын
@AJ Eaves Yeah, I'm aware. The VRC6 chip as opposed to the MMC5 chip. I just had a brain fart moment and called this a disk system game.

+Monocle Enthusiast mostly just concepts looking into the limitations of an NES and how to compact such a big game into a small rom. and I have learned a lot but I still need a programer who knows 6502 assembly because if I am to do this game it has to run on an NES and although I have learned a lot i still can't program so all i can do is art and music. so when i say i am working on it i am trying to get all the info on how to do it so if you know any one who can program or even effectively hack an NES game let me know so can get this ball rolling and sorry if I got your hopes up I am not as good at wording things as I would like
@patrick977649 жыл бұрын
+Monocle Enthusiast Thanks although I have read it before it just goes over my head :( I learn better with one on one teaching or hands on tinkering. I will however give it another read and who knows maybe I will learn something *derp face * but in the mean time if I am to continue in this endeavor I will need at least one other person to help with this project and that person needs to know 6502 assembly (because I don't yet and I take a long time to learn new things) so if you could direct me to such an individual I would much appreciate it.

As much as I want to say this is perfect for Stage 1, why not have this as the final stage music, as Belmont ascends the staircase leading to Dracula's throne room, complete with the clock tower and crescent moon in the background... It just adds a hint of suspense, as you know the final battle awaits once you enter that door...

@coatlesscarl12 жыл бұрын
A lot of the instruments used in the original track had two octaves of the same note playing simultaneously on the same channel. Mostly, there would be two such channels doing this at once, meaning there were four octaves of the same note being played, not counting the lead, which was also often playing the same note in two octaves at once. I had to choose which two octaves of the same note I thought sounded closest to the original. Also, the bass is incredibly low for most of the song.

Something about this seems a little off. It almost sounds like the original version from the Super NES. I was excepting a more "tinny" sound to it, for some reason. But like I said, this sounds almost exactly like the Super NES version. It's probably the extra channels (Japanese Castlevania III-style?) combined with the samples you used...

How was NES music created in the 80's and 90's?
@coatlesscarl9 жыл бұрын
I would assume most programmed the music in Hex Code, or wrote their own music programs for MS-DOS or a Commodore computer or something, and probably some of the Japanese composers used Family BASIC. I'm really not sure, but I know it wasn't Famitracker.
@IncapableLP9 жыл бұрын
coatlesscarl You programmed it! I will admit, that famitracker is a bit more advanced, but it basically was a sound table where you program the notes into. Most composers weren't even able to play a single instrument. Take the Turrican II OST for Amiga. It is one of the finest trackermusic i know and the composer (TO THIS DAY) wasn't even able to play the piano. Crazy stuff...
@vuurniacsquarewave50919 жыл бұрын
IncapableLP That's how a fair amount of people gravitate towards music sequencing and tracker programs. They want to make music, but they don't play an instrument.
