You're right about the conduit filling with water. As an electrician, I have never seen an underground conduit without water in it.

This has been happening to a repeater not too far from me, perfect timing with this topic!

I've had both the 718 and 450. Both nice radios in their own way. 73, AC3HT

I love my Icom IC-718. Really excels for CW with the FL52a filter.

Licensed a few months ago and still building my station out. I’ve also been curious about antenna separation as I have a 60’ tower/mast unit I’m putting up and have a hy-gain AV680 HF vertical as well as a Comet GP9 dual-band vertical. Id like to get them both up on said tower and don’t know how far apart they’d need to be. Additionally a Tram 1486 for GMRS and a home made 11M di-pole. Can all this be crowded onto the same tower?

I removed all the TV coax from my house and background noise on 20 meter went from 9 to 0.

Another consideration ... it's preferable to keep VHF/UFH coax runs as short as possible. If you are not sure why, google coax loss (or similar).

i HAVE THE 7300. MY QUESTION IS THE ANTENNA TUNER ON THE RADIO ENOUGH. i HAVE A KEN WOOD 990 i HAVE A AUTO SEPARATE TUNER FOR IT. THE SEVENTY THREE HUNDRED IS A NICE RADIO. BUT THERE IS DAYLIGHT AND DRKE I LOVE BOTH RADIOS. ON THE KEEN WOOD i HAVE RADIO TUNER TURNED OFF.

What's an "uggie"?
@brvfd822 Жыл бұрын
It’s pronounced “auggie”. Oggie is the nickname Dave has for his subscribers and followers. It’s derived from the last two letters of his call sign, OG.
