@@temporarilyoffline I didn't. I plan on making it to the big ones next year though. My main issue currently, until I buy some land, is I have no place to park something and I don't want to pay monthly. I'm getting closer to having the land though so we'll see!

This is great - I need to do very similar stuff to my trailer soon, so the entry ideas give me good stuff to ponder. It’d be nice if those little inserts were available commercially for people without a 3D printer - I’d like to see them for BNC and N as well in addition to SO-239.

That is great ! ABR has great stuff. I had them make make chokes on FT 240- for me as well . Shannon Abramson got me all set .Great people from ABR and done in TEXAS . I went with RG 400T coax and 10 wrap . 5 then cross over 4 more . 10 total. The cross over counts as 1 turn as it goes threw canter of toroide. Did the same PL 250 to SO 239 . I will be getting on with 10 turns RG 400T ABR coax but a BNC male and SO 239. They make what I want or need. Allsome company ! I love that Powerworx stuff. My favorite install . They have so much on their cite . I get big packages from them. They carry Victron MPPT solar charge controllers. and a lot more ! 73

I love the innovation, and the fact the visual presentation has been considered. FYI, previously I acquired some SO connectors off amazon. Had a bunch of anomalous SWR reading. After some very painful head banging I figured out the SO Connectors we not completely electrical isolated. I want to believe it was just mine. One other thought, the way you have the power poles installed in the desk, unless you are a neater person then me, the rubber covers will save you from having to fish out little bits that fall down into them when there is not a plug in them. Passing that along from a friend.🙂

Thanks for the great content,,, I do think the power poles would be better suited if they were facing you instead of facing up. If you drop a drink or dust or shavings from another project on them you might have problems... If you revise this please make a video....

I like the idea of having power ports built into the desk. When the next shack upgrades come, this will be on my list. I've been debating the best way to get a passthrough setup for all the coax. There is a roof height difference just above my desk that should be a great place to have a passthrough. I like the choked out jumper idea. The look of the powerpoles flush in the desk was really nice. How do you manage shack grounding in the RV?
@temporarilyoffline6 сағат бұрын
I have never ran a grounded station. I don't even think about it.

As messy as my bench is I would have a cap to cover the power. It keeps stuff from falling in at the worst possible time. Just me though!. Thanks for the videos! 73

I've been thinking about it. I still have the covers. I've never covered the distro-blocks, so it would be a new luxury!

@@temporarilyoffline If they are vertical it's a nonissue. But laying flat...I always seem to have bad luck with leads and small screws ending up in the wrong place. Like coax shield cuttings. They hurt like hell is you get a few small ones in your bare feet!
@TrekOnTheAir10 сағат бұрын
For the Chokes, I run an HF choke, but will it hurt anything to run HF on a VHF choke, or vice versa? I wouldnt mind adding a choke to my VHF/UHF input, but i occasionally use it for HF haha.
@temporarilyoffline6 сағат бұрын
It won't hurt anything to run a choke on any band vs any other band. I'm not sure why ABR spec'd different wraps, but coax is their specialty, so I will let them be the experts!

You're not going to put the dust covers over the power pole's to keep dust from getting in them when not in use just thinking.
@temporarilyoffline11 сағат бұрын
Hey Tommy - the more I stare at them them more I want the dust covers back on... I'm still struggling with quick access vs no-dust. To be fair, my distro blocks never had dust covers on them, so it would be that touch of class.
