Lovely work! I met you back in 2005 in Chicago when you did the Butterfly Lounge. So nice to see what youve been up to in 22!

@@cobalot9 We are concerned because we never really see cob houses in very humid environments. We live basically in a swamp, can it be done or will it breakdown and fall apart.

I watched your Cobin video and at the end you were showing the small rectangle homes your were building for the homeless and I would love to see how you finished those. The video kind of just cuts off in the middle of you showing them. Great work and great content thank you!

Thanks. I finished them with a lime plaster and lime wash. .

What do you have to go through to get building permits?
@cobalot9 Жыл бұрын
Right, the permit thing. . so the classrooms I've been building in Florida is on a property zoned for agriculture and the structures are used for educational purposes and not for living in so no permits were required. Other small structures I do are 120 square ft and do not require permits if they are used for storage, sheds or play structures if they were ever reported to the building department they could be considered to be inconsequential I do have engineered drawings though to build my structures to code if I absolutely needed to but I'd rather just keeping it fun and simple.

@@cobalot9A question on this. Would you use cob for a larger structure, say 800sqft+, or a structure with 2 stories? I recently found out about cob and am so amazed by it. Thank you for your videos, they're inspiring to watch.

Hi! Thanks! Glad you like! The cost depends on a few different factors, but they are about $2 a pound, and they weigh about 5000 lbs. .
