Arguably, it would have been better if he had taken that extra damage. At 2 health he died to anything but at 1 he still dies to anything but that is 1 more health on a battlemaster if he somehow got into a situation where he could get one. So Kripp actually got lucky on that attack.

What about the 3/3 ? Cobalt + 3/3 + hero + 2 rats = 15

The opponent would have had to lose a 1/4 for that to happen as the 10/4 could have hit either cobalt or the animal buffer and it still would have ended with them at 1 health. The big rat would then hit the 7/7 and there would have been a 3/7 chance that it would then hit a cobalt or the buffer and so survived. So at 8:26 before the buffer died there was a 3/28 chance of Kripp killing them completely. That would be luckier but the odds are low enough that it isn't exactly unlucky not to get it. Starting at 8:27 after the buffer was hit though, Kripp got the (arguably) best outcome of setting them to 2 health rather than 1.

I can't remember the exact details but when Amalgams were still around, I remember winning a game where I had picked up a super late cobalt guardian for my last minion and it was only like 6/3 or 8/5 but with some divine shield refreshes and luck, it tanked like so much damage, was the last minion standing and won me the game even though I had other much bigger minions lol. Ridiculously OP in battlegrounds

Cobalt wouldn't be a powerhouse if the divine shield you gained when playing a mech wasn't inexplicably permanent. That should be how they nerf it. Make you have to play a new mech to refresh it in the tavern every time.

The card's name is Cobalt Guardian. It is not Cobold. Why call it with the adjective - Cobalt? It is a Guardian. It is like calling a Big Wolf - Big or Green Slime - Green. I don't get it... Maybe it is really because of the word Cobalt is similar to Cobold?
