Cobalt ss M62 vs H62 vs TVS1320. In this video I show some differences between the factory m62 supercharger and the very rare H62 supercharger and the TVS1320.

@@jasonwiddowson8892 no prob man. Been looking for a channel for nearly 3 years now. Slowly building up my little 2.2 coup 5spd. End game is to rebuild the engine and hit it with zzp turbo kit. Just shy of a year into it... Eibach sport, k&n typhoon, zzp maf, zzp tune, zzp dp, new stock mid pipe, n1 style muffler, aem a/f, ottp short throw. Sitting on 18x9 niches wrapped in nitto neo 225/40. Just threw an exedy pro clutch in it. Thought I was getting a stage 1 but realized otherwise after the fact.

There's 12 of these sitting brand new in the box. at Mitford proving grounds. In building 104. I've been wanting to make them disappear for the past 4 years. But there technically owned by Eaton. But they never came to get them so there kinda stuck in limbo.

Jason, a little off topic, but a quick question on a 2.2l supercharger conversion with the stock M62. Can you use the stock 2.2l tensioner arm with the vertical 2.0l lsj tensioner? I also have ZZP's adjustable pulley. I know you mess around with Ecotecs a lot and didn't know if you ever tried this combo. I'm having a tough time finding the lsj idler mount bracket, so I was wondering if the stock 2.2 might work.

I made 318 whp 298 wtq on 22 psi with the Xmas tree port. Ported lower and ported head on a stock LSJ. Oh and water/ meth. I was the person who created that port design btw.

I had a ported M62 on my SS with a 2.6 Pulley, along with double pass endplate, S3 heat exchanger, neutral balance shafts, S3 ZZP Cams, n a few other things, tuned on 93 made 320whp on 20lbs of boost, miss that car, may need to build another one n go TVS and fully build the head with ZZP’s Race block 😆

@@18thSTVATO upgrade the valve springs and get a thicker headgasket to lower the compression, the 2.4 ecotecs are not as sturdy and have valve float issues. Do the timing chain while you are in there as well so the guides don't break and grenade your valves

So when you used the h blower did you have it maxed out on the dyno? Can it produce more boost safely or is it the design which makes it better flowing for a bit more power at the same boost?
@jasonwiddowson88924 жыл бұрын
It was pretty much maxed out. It was running the same pulley as the m62. It did produce about two more pounds of boost. With the ATI damper it's like I was running a pulley just under a 2.5.

I'm interested in doing a 1320 install in my 2007 Cobalt SS. The thing is, I think the transmission might be going in it. Since your channel focuses on the Cobalt, would you advise doing so? As I've heard Getrag no longer produces or manufactures components/parts for that transmission. Sorry if this question sounds dumb
@jasonwiddowson88922 жыл бұрын
Not dumb at all. There is a gut on fb jason Perrotto that builds these transmissions. I believe he sells parts for them also. There also new ones on fb but the prices have went way up. Another option is f23 swap from a base model but these is some work involved need to switch out mounts and holders they hold good power as good or better then the stock trans. The best swap is the f40. Jason and zzp sells swap kits there 6sp to and very strong. But can set you back 4k give or take

@@18thSTVATO Yes you can, or a turbo. Either is a full weekend project plus tune time and about $2,000-$2,500 when all is said and done. Can't make a lot of power on that 2.4 bottom end, but enough to add a little extra fun.

@@18thSTVATO no, you need the lower manifold collant pump different bracket for the alternator and ac lines a tune and alot of fab work.
