Tbh tho, the raiders aren’t acting savage just coz they like it. They believe the sand is sacred and holy and so it was not he touched or exposed to bare skin, that’s why they cover up. It’s also why they attack settlements as those people do not cover up. This is why they are friendly to mando coz he’s always fully covered up.

I started rewatch Deadwood because of seeing him here and it's so clear seeing the influence Deadwood and Justified had on this character. The walk, the enunciation, the delivery of dialog, even his posture when he has his hand on the blaster.

@@Saintbow Olyphant definitely played his more underrated gunslinger persona here. He had the gunslinger walk down pat (drawing hand sways less for easier blaster reach - very distinct vs Mando's right hand). He kept his drawing hand low and very close to his blaster during the cantina table scene (drinking and gesturing done with his left hand throughout). Add the nonchalance to genuine threats, he's definitely our sang-froid (Montana|S. Dakota/Kentucky/Utah/Tatooine) Marshal!
